Gregory Kouki warned that about Easter we would
see the launching of another new stab at the heart of the Bible. As
the feminist and lesbian Methodists termed their new scheme
RE-IMAGING THE CHURCH, Rubel Shelly was original and called his
RE-VISIONING THE CHURCH.
AMONG THE SCHOLARS they call theirs THE JESUS
SEMINAR and Rubel Shelly removes his to a safety zone by calling it
THE JESUS PROJECT.

is a group of self-described scholars who have determined Jesus probably only said 20% of
the quotes attributed to him by Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John.

corner, we're about to
see a flood of articles in the news weeklies and local papers about a very specific kind of
missionary
group.
What Does the Jesus Seminar
Believe?
The Jesus Seminar meets twice a year to dissect biblical
passages. Their goal: separate historical fact from mythology.
So far, they have
rejected as myth the resurrection of Jesus from the dead,
the virgin
birth,
all Gospel miracles, and a
full 82% of the teachings normally attributed to Jesus--
all dismissed as legendary accretions with no historical foundation.
For example, only two
words of the Lord's
Prayer survive as authentic: "Our Father."
The Jesus Proposal at Work
Rubel Shelly:
More and more
people in the United States seem to have decided they can live without church. But be careful that you don't
misinterpret the meaning of that fact.
It means
something different in a postmodern world
than it would have meant to
someone rooted in modernity.
The church which belongs to Christ as Father of
His family has almost no connection to the church which Rubel Shelly
has founded. Jesus died to eleminate the LADED BURDENS or ritualistic
religion and built an ekklesia or synagogue (both Greek). The
synagogue was a SCHOOL OF THE BIBLE where people gathered to hear
scriptural prayers and hear the Word read through in three years.
"Preaching" was simply explaining any foreign term or concept without
"allegorazing" and without "further expounding" as Peter clearly
prohibits as PRIVATE INTERPRETATION. The word exegesis means "magica"
or "musica" and was considered sorcery and its practicioners
(including singers, musicians and expounders) were parasites.
Jesus promises to GATHER with two or three
where we "come learn of me" as He speaks as the Spirit of Christ even
as He spoke in the beginning.
The meeting is defined by the Greek ekklesia.
This meeting of mature, males was like a county court or to select
leaders. It was called on demand and the members did not suggest
anything and only responed to specific questions needing
settled.
The synnagogue was a SCHOOL OF THE BIBLE and a
place of prayer. It was normally opened and ready to instruct
students in the deeper meaning of the Old Testament. The synagogue
had no instruments, no praise
singing and nothing which could be defined as RELIGION any more
than the local public school could be called RELIGION.
The Pharisees
asserted that God could and should be worshiped even
away from the
Temple and outside Jerusalem.
To the Pharisees, worship
consisted not in
bloody sacrifices--the practice of the Temple priests--
but in
prayer and in the study of God's law.
Hence the Pharisees fostered
the synagogue as an institution of religious worship, outside and separate from the
Temple.

One of Dr. Shelly's writing
stable mates explained to me that truth had gone into a black hole,
was travelling through a worm hole and would come out in a white
hole. Until then, all truth has been lost in the POSTMODERN WORLD of
which Dr. Shelly is a "Baited and Switched" at philosophy
school.
Many people in the Old World
also decided that they could live without the church when church
became pagan worship center and as a "venue for Rock and Roll" and
the preachers got short sheeted on the Bible and spiritual insight and FILLED
UP with the spirit of a
virtually insane notion about truth suddenly shifting.
Those "mega churches" which had
preachers repudiating the Great Commission because postmodernism had
made them into infidels will die and be turned into museums and dance
halls just like the grand buildings of Europe. The church grew in
Europe when Luther and Calvin repudiated a hireling clergy and
evangelists went out preaching "that which had been written" and
seeing it do its spiritual work without too much MINISTRY PYRAMIDAL
POWER GRABBING from them.
Rubel Shelly:
True enough, there are
larger-than-ever numbers of Americans who say they are agnostic or
atheist with regard to the existence of God. But those numbers still
remain relatively low. Depending on the poll you cite, somewhere
between 90% and 96% of people in this country still say they believe
in a personal
deity.
So how does postmodernism make
something of that when probably the same percentage believes in UFOs?
The numbers expand here and shrink there. Don't forget the vast
influx of people from other nations who are not nomimal Christians.
But how are we gonna attract Muslims with a TRIAD GOD and taking the
Lord's Supper with pork
in our teeth and
women theatrical
performers?
Rubel Shelly:
Yet church attendance
generally and identification with particular denominations hardly
reflect so high a percentage of citizens. Only about 30% to 32% attend religious services on a weekly basis.
It has been estimated that a
million Jews perished in the destruction of Jerusalem. And the Jewish
population may have been several millions. However, it has been
estimated that only about 10,000 were active CULTIC Jews concerned
with the Temple as the capital of the Jewish state and center of
NATIONAL animal sacrifices. Therefore, we should not worry about numbers
IF the evangelists are
going into the world to EXPOSE people to the gospel without bearing
the personal burden of trying to SAVE them.
Rubel Shelly:
Significantly higher
percentages say they
read the Bible or pray regularly. People are telling us they believe in God, read
their Bibles, and pray; those same people who say they cannot live
without God are nonetheless telling us they can live without church. If such a thought was foreign
to moderns, it is not at all intimidating to postmoderns.
That is a result of the
internet and not a radical, organic restructure of the human brain
claimed by hallucinating scholars. Yes, they say that the brains of younger people have
actually EVOLVED so that they cannot DO words but must have symbols
and images RE-VISIONED by Dr. Shelly and Lynn Anderson. 75% of
Americans are on the internet and OUR mission is to make the truth
available and warn them not to trust their soul to "da company sto"
as most secular institutional churches have become.
And that is good
news: Jesus didn't say
"go found mega-institutions with a mega, pyramidal MINISTRY system
riding on the backs of widows." He said GO PREACH. Now, anyone can preach the word almost anywhere
they have sunlight or a cable in the world. If they need to be
baptized then according to the pattern, they will ask for it. And you
won't have to send a baptizing priest to do it. Undoubtedly YOUR
children are asking me for help on a high school progect on the
Ancient Near East. Perhaps while they are cutting out and pasting up
or clapping hands in church they are learning how to be pagans on the
internet. Or, better yet, how to detect gross error in the teaching
role of most churches replaced by "holy theater" to lead you into the
presence of God.
People can establish
"synagogues" and study the Bible and teach the death of Jesus through
the Lord's Supper and never be told that the Supper is some kind of
magical ceremony.
Rubel Shelly:
So what are we to make
of these facts? Are they simply a jumble of inconsistent statistics?
Perhaps the category "spiritual but not religious" that was used in a January 2002 USA Today/Gallup Poll helps a bit. It was a growth-group in
the survey.
If you are building mega
structures then don't expect that the faithful will seek you out.
There is some doubt that there will even be enough faithful to be
found by Gallup:
I tell you that he
will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh,
shall he find faith on
the earth? Luke 18:8
The image of Isaiah is "a drop
of good juice out of one rotten grape off one bare cluster off one
dead vine out of one vineyard from which God has broken down the
watchtower and broken down the walls so that the BEASTS (people) can
come in and EAT YOUR LUNCH so that you hunger and thirst for the WORD
but can no longer hear it."
Esaias
also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the
children of Israel be as
the sand of the sea, a
remnant shall be saved: Ro.9:27
And as Esaias said before,
Except the Lord of
Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. Ro.9:29
John defines Jerusalem as Egypt
and Sodom. The implication is that most of the world will be trapped
in goddess worship of the Babylonian Whore with music and sexual
perversion. So, if you are popular or seek numbers just understand
that you are pursueing the wrong "god" and you will not like it if
you ever "dare to dance with the True God."
And the dragon was
wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed,
which keep the
commandments of God,
and have the
testimony of
Jesus
Christ. Re.12:17
Postmoderns claim to have the
"spirit" as one third of the Godhead thrashing around inside of their
bodies. Therefore, they can repudiate the old Jesus and His old Word
because they are apostles or prophets or even christs.
However, the MARK of God is
having the SPIRIT of God which is the TESTIMONY OF CHRIST;
And I fell at his
feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am
thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of
Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of
prophecy. Rev 19:10
If you do not have that MARK
then you have the MARK of ZOE the Lucifer character known as the
BEAST: she is the "female instructing principle" and forces the minor
"jehovahs" into forming musical worship teams. Remember that Jesus as
the TRUE Logos was believed by the Greeks whom Rubel Shelly appeals
to to be the male and therefore inferior or more ignorant side of
ZOE. When the clergy tried to get Jesus to sing and dance the
homosexual choral dance of Dionysus, they were tryiing to MARK him
with the BEAST symbol.
Rubel Shelly:
Spirituality is growing in America, but church attendance and
membership generally are
not. In one of the
regions of the country where religion -- defined as an organized
denomination or faith-group -- has the lowest percentage of
involvement, one 31-year-old churchgoer has offered an explanation of
the behavior of his peers. "I totally understand my friends who hate
church or think it's boring or react negatively because of the
formalities and customs," he said. "They think it's strange, stuffy,
weird and ritualistic."
Testing spirituality is pretty
hard to do since the human spirit is the mind and the mind is most
deceptive.
What is the SPIRIT? In Hebrew
it is not Rubel Shelly's little man inside of the big man but:

Did the Spirit prophesied to
rest UPON Jesus appear in the form of a PERSON or member of the God
family or committee? No!
AND there shall
come forth a rod out
of the stem of
Jesse, and a Branch

And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit
of wisdom
and understanding, the spirit of counsel
and might,
the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; Isaiah 11: 2

fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes,
neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: Isaiah 11: 3

In the New Testament, God only
accepts SPIRITUAL
worship in
our own spirits
or minds:

Therefore, I urge you,
brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this
is your spiritual act of worship. Ro.12:1
This does not mean found a
ministry to homosexuals: it means that for a person to offer
SPIRITUAL WORSHIP they have to be "in the Spirit on the Lord's day."
IN THE SPIRIT means "in the mind" or innermost being.
This demands that the body be
sacrificed

Now, when the victim ia ACTING
it doesn't sing, act, dance or wave its arms in the air like the
sodomite worshipers of the goddess. Remember that the effeminate priesthood tried to force Jesus into action as
they "piped."
The place of the
scripture which he read was this, He was led as
a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: Ac.8:32
A Christian is a DISCIPLE of
Christ and not a RELIGIONISTS of Christ. Therefore, a Christian
imitates His only example and does not allow their body to struggle
while the spirit is thinking about God as Spirit.
The BODY of the victime is
totally deadened to its own activity and comes before the Throne of
Grace in dark silence:

Paul insisted that those who
believe that SPIRITUAL WORSHIP is something done in the rituals at
the architectural point of the High Place are still in their sinful
nature and therefore do THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS to satisfy the lust of
the eyes, ears and nature:
Those who live
according to the sinful
nature have their
minds
set on what that
nature
desires;
but those who live in
accordance with the
Spirit have their minds
set on what the Spirit
desires. Ro.8:5
Rubel Shelly sees the
Corinthian church as a model
of 'unity in diversity' and Shelly and John York believe that the
Corinthians were BAPTIZED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.
However, Paul thought that they
were so wicked that he could not preach beyond the MILK of the word
which they did not desire.
AND I, brethren,
could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 1
Cor 3:1
SPIRITUAL is not exhilarated
or enraptured but:
Pneumatikos (g4152) pnyoo-mat-ik-os'; from 4151;
non-carnal,
i.e. (humanly) ethereal (as opposed to gross), or (daemoniacally) a spirit (concr.), or divinely
supernatural, regenerate, religious: - spiritual. Comp. 5591.
Psuchikos (g5591) psoo-khee-kos'; from 5590; sensitive, i.e. animate (in distinction on the one hand from
4152, which is the higher or renovated nature; and on the other from
5446, which is the lower or bestial nature): - natural, sensual.
Therefore, the spiritual nature
is the mental nature and
you can FEED the mind only with spiritual or mental wisdom
But the
natural man receiveth
not the things of the
Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him:
neither can he
know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

If you find yourself not
believing the Word it may be that you are from a different family and
CANNOT believe it perhaps because you have made a soul-destroying
decision and cannot repent.
They were still infants and
Peter said that:
Like
newborn
babies, crave pure
spiritual
milk, so that by it you
may grow up in your
salvation,

Neither a sacrificial victim or
an infant decides to DO spiritual growth for someone else by singing,
dancing or tossing out the carrots and eating ice cream.
Rubel Shelly: People who are searching for God don't sense they are being helped in
their quest by the
church.
Then maybe we need to dispense
with Doctors of the Law and people trained in worship facilitation
though singing, clapping, instruments and drama: Yea, even
"christian" colleges imitating gargoyles or demons and clowns as an
"evangelistic tool."
Fools can't be fooled all of
the Time according to Abe Lincoln.
In Canada: Now,
for the first time in three decades, overall attendance among the
mainline Protestant denominations -- Anglican, Presbyterian, Lutheran
and United Churches -- has remained stable instead of declining.
More significant is that in
these mainline
churches, the
percentage of teens
attending worship services has increased from 17 per cent in 1984 to
23 per cent in 2000.
Among mainline Protestant 18- to 34-year-olds, attendance also
increased, from nine per cent in 1990 to 13 per cent in 2000.
"To paraphrase Mark Twain,
rumours of the death of mainline Protestantism in Canada appear to
have been greatly exaggerated," says Mr. Bibby.
In Canada it was not the
people who failed the church but the leaders who failed because they
believed that if they made worship powerful enough they coul lead the
people by the nose:
Rev. Jean Ward, who is in
charge of urban ministries for the United Church of Canada, says many
church leaders lost
their way during the 1980s when the dream of perpetual progress died, and it
became clear the world was not necessarily going to get
better.
Consistent witht he entire
Bible, what works is making the church more like the synagogue as a
place to learn and not CIRCLES OF MEMBERSHIP in a purpose driven
cult:
Attendance at his church has
tripled from 200 to 600 in the past 10 years, and he says it is
because the church has simplified its worship and proved that seekers can come and ask questions and learn without
being pressured to make a commitment. Resources
Then, the advice might be to
quit holding rituals of which music is the most ritualistic and Word
starving.
We told you in the
first section that GOD ISN'T LOST. Therefore, you cannot PURSUE GOD
THROUGH THE PSALMS or perform the musical rituals which have meaning
only for the perverse religions where the once-human and
somethimes-evil "gods and goddesses" were SEARCHED FOR through what
the Bible calls spiritual adultery.
We quoted Paul who said that
the CREATOR of the world isn't likely to get so lost that He provided
a COTTAGE INDUSTRY for God finders and god manipulators.
God that made the
world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and
earth,
dwelleth not in
temples made with hands; Acts 17:24
Neither is worshipped with mens
hands,
as though he needed any thing,
seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; Acts 17:25
How can you PEDDLE the messiah claim that your
musicians can LEAD the worshipers into the presence of God when God
is NOT THERE. So, you make false promises when Paul said that if we
want to meet CHRIST we have to GO OUTSIDE the camp or city. Isn't
playing instruments, clapping hands, raising hands like antenna to
suck God in trying to worship with MEN'S HANDS? Sure.
God did not intend that people have to fight
like animals because He created all MEN alike so that they CAN seek
and find God. This does not mean that Satan didn't try to destroy
God's plan by introducing his own host of ugly demons including the
UNKNOWN ONE who was later big time in Gnosticism:
And hath made of
one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the
earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds
of their habitation; Acts 17:26
That they should
seek the Lord, if haply
they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from
every one of us: Acts 17:27
Rubel Shelly: The church
has become an obstacle to them rather than a guide to God or a
meaningful herald of the
kingdom of God.
Doesn't this sound like blaming postmodern's
problems on modernism? Why would we blame our failures by believing
that Paul Revere did not herald the British troups? Why would we try
to announce the kingdom when Jesus said "don't even look for it
because the kingdom of God is within you."
Heralds fail and are worthy of death when the
tamper with the message sent by the king. Here is where the HERALDS
who tried to rewrite the message for the KING got themselves into
trouble which they probably CANNOT get out of:
A HERALD: R. L. Dabney, Presbyterian:
The preacher is
most explicitly called a herald;
that is, the deliverer of a message. Now, the herald does not make his
message, he
merely transmits
it.
He has nothing to do with judging its wisdom or
fitness; let him simply
proclaim it as it is
given to him. This was
God's command to an ancient preacher: "Arise, go unto Nineveh, that
great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee." (Jonah iii. 2.)

Bible
topics form the
whole subject
matter of
preaching, but they must be presented in scriptural aspects and proportions.
God made the Bible
for the
people; not
raw material which the
religious philosopher is to work over into new forms.
Here is a simple and admitted
fact, which is full of neglected inferences. The book of God
is not like the book of creation, a mixed and crude mass of the ore of knowlege, which must become the subject of
scientific re-arrangement, to become intelligible to common minds.
The Bible is for
the people; this is the
great principle of Protestants.
"... a herald dare announce only what he is ordered to
announce, no more and
no less; he must also word it just so and not otherwise. The herald
is only the
loudspeaker of the
radio... God wants heralds, he supplies the grand announcement to be
made, and no herald can
improve upon it... This
God who sends his heralds with his announcement and the people to
whom he sends his heralds are not expected to pay those heralds."

A Christian is a Baptized
Disciple. A teacher is NOT a Christian if he does not believe the
teachings of Christ but is peddling some kind of magic.
Rubel Shelly: Citizens of a modern world criticized the
church, sometimes
switched churches, but most often accepted the conclusion that God
could not be found apart from the church; "spiritual but not
religious" would have smacked of self-contradiction.
This has nothing to do with the radical
restructure of the human brain and everything to do with
communication. If the preacher quite literally CHAINED the Bible to
the pulpit by making it off limits without the "priest's certificate"
then he could get by with saying as I remember it:
If you want to meet God be here
at 6 this afternoon.
My brother in law: "Guess I will miss God
because I cannot be here."
The Bible was written and evangelists went
everywhere preaching what others could not read. Gutenberg came
and the preachers stayed. Now, the Internet is here and people who
claim to have the TRUTH CORNERED are no longer feared because the
threats are found to be all lies. And making themselves in a
hirtorical HAMMER to try to bust up the Old "Anvil" will just wear
them out and burn them up:

This failed because it did not have the SPIRIT
of God or the MIND OF CHRIST in it. Just got an e-mail from a
"musician" who claims to be a "co-creator with God." Now, fools may
enjoy being fools but the postmodern mind is the same as the modern
mind and decides to quit being fools and paying a tithe for the
pleasure.
"Father John
Culkin, Director of the Communications at Fordham University, a
follower of McLuhan, says this: 'Gutenberg came and the Reformation came.
Electronics
comes and the
ecumenical
movement comes.' He
means that
the ecumenical movement is
rooted for its unity in
the midst of a contentless situation,
a situation that is completely
cool and has nothing to
do with objective doctrinal truth.
No rhetorical actor or musical performer can
any longer compete with the ability to STEAL CDs off the internet.
That is why the old apostasy which replaced DIALOG with performance
preaching may have somewhat worked for a thousand years will not
longer work just as it did not work very well B.S. (Before Shelly)
and the insanity of the postmodern stuff which we suspect was
invented to make fools of fools.
"Equally, the new
existential
theologians in our
churches live only in the area of cool communication. They have denied content--content is not important to them...T.H. Huxley in
1890 saw that the day would come when
theology would
be separated from everything that has anything to do with
fact and as such
would never be open to
challenge." (Schaeffer,
Francis, The Church before the watching world, p. 68).
Lynn Anderson: Sounds right to me, Mr. Huxley!
Something like this can
happen to faith as well. The rational, informational, and linear-sequential worlds of productivity tend to dominate in our lives these days.
Consequently, the
rest of our
worlds suffer neglect,
and we are losing touch with much of what it means to believe.
The rest of the story told
by Huxley includes just this:
"Abused as we abuse it at present,
dramatic art
(preaching) is in no sense cathartic; it is merely
a form of emotional
masturbation. It is the
rarest thing to find a player
who has not had his character affected for the worse by the practice of his profession.
Nobody can make a
habit of self-exhibition, nobody can exploit his personality for the sake of exercising a kind of hypnotic power
over others, and remain
untouched by the process. From Source
Rubel Shelly: Not so for postmodern men and women; "spiritual but not religious" makes perfectly good sense to them -- and is even a
desirable option for increasing numbers of them. The problem is
serious enough in today's new thought categories that the following question has been raised by the
press:
"Will religion
survive the spirituality boom?"
We challenge any postmodern to produce any "new
thought category" which was not anticipated 2,000 years ago.
But "postmodern" sounds just
quacky, querky and jerky enought that it can be sold like HAIR
RESTORER which was "seen of Oprah." That is why most "scholarly"
writing can be shown to be mostly error because it quotes quotes from
quotes and has never read the ORIGINAL.
Hmmm? Sounds like Postmoderns just caught up
with the ORIGINAL Jesus project. Rember the Martha, Martha "church"?
Well, Jesus said that He came to bring the "Mary" church for those
who "choose the better part" by just sitting at His feed and
learning. Therefore, the masculine Martha Marthas who just make you

The Old Jesus repudiated prophesying which was
pagan music and said:
Not every one that
saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in
heaven. Mt.7:21
Many will say to me
in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful
works? Mt 7:22
Prophesying was using music or drugs to create an
EXCITEMENT so that the song or sermon could be huckstered as NEW
TRUTH. Music or charismatic preaching creates endorphins which create
the effects of FIGHT, FLIGHT or SEXUALITY. Bring on the women to
"preside over" and you exercise Paul's authentia which is both EROTIC
and MURDEROUS. Modern hate mongers truly enter into the OCCULT to
cast out old "rotten and harmful" brethren who will not BOW DOWN to
the piper.
"In cultic action
music was used in preparation for
prophecy. Julius Firmicus Maternus refers to
this fact in his remarks on an African cult.

- the priests would put on women's clothing and
- then call on the goddess so that,

spirit, they

- predict the future to foolish men.

The old gospel of Bartholomew said:

that is by drunkenness and laughter, by backbiting, hypocrisy, pleasures, fornication, and the rest of the trifles

enormously.)

him: What is the sin against the Holy Ghost?

Whosoever shall decree
(decide) against any man that hath served my holy Father hath
blasphemed against the Holy Ghost:

serveth God
worshipfully is worthy
of the Holy Ghost,

anything evil against him shall not be forgiven.

and as many as believe
thereon shall have eternal life.
The word religion simply
means 'ceremonial observance." However, Jesus fired the "doctors of
the law" as people who burdened the people down like pack
animals.
However, Jesus died to TAKE THE BURDEN on
Himself: He has been mocked by the musical clergy, sacrificed on the
cross and gone into heaven to complete the "religious" transaction
once and for all.
Come unto me
all
ye that labor and are
heavy
laden, and I will give
you rest. Mt.11:28
The burden is:
Phortizo (h5412) for-tid'-zo;
from 5414; to load up (prop. as aa vessel or animal), i.e. (fig.) to
overburden with ceremony (or spiritual anxiety): - lade, be heavy
laden.
The Rest Jesus gave us:
Anapauo (g373) an-up-ow'-o; from 303 and 3973;
(reflex.) to repose
(lit. or fig. [be exempt], remain); by impl. to refresh: - take ease,
refresh, (give, take) rest.
Pauo
(g3973) pow'-o; a prim. verb ("pause"); to stop (trans. or intrans.),
i.e. restrain, quit, desist, come to an end: - cease, leave, refrain.
When Paul speaks about
"worship" he says that it is IN SPIRIT or in his mind and not in
ceremonial rituals. When he speaks of praying he says PRAY IN THE
SPIRIT. That answers to the direct command of Jesus to pray in
private and it answers to the command to worship IN SPIRIT by giving
heed to the Word.
Only dominant clergy load the
people down with ceremony and "programs" trying to do what the little
Jesus was not able to do in social religion.
Conclusion: the Biblically
literate gave up religion even in the ancient MODERN period.
Spiritual on the other hand,
means rational or IN THE MIND. A person can worship IN SPIRIT in a
quiet, dark place: a person CANNOT WORSHIP with the "musical worship
team" polluting the Holy Place claiming to be mediators between men
and God.
The early church met
informally, the elders and deacons were the only SPIRIT FILLED
teachers and the Lord's Supper did not involve 3,000 people normally
so it did not create "spiritual anxiety through religious
rituals."

not. But it will be interesting to see how
these preachers are able to EXPLOIT spirituality which can be done
without a priest or animal-sacrifice worship noise team.
Know a guy who had a seminar on
developing spirituality. Sound like the old joke about my book
"Humility and How I developed it." But I am absolutely certain that
someone is marketing a spirituality seminar.
I have noticed that slick
hucksters have learned how to SELL free internet E-mail service. That
is slicker than selling the FREE Water of the Word (Isaiah
55).
HERE IS THE HONEST JESUS PROPOSAL
"Those who lord it over the
people will soon begin to destroy Them. The word Balaam means 'the
destroyer of the people.' If we turn back to the history of this
strange figure as recorded in the book of Numbers we find that which
clarifies three passages in the New Testament where 'the error of
Balaam' (Jude 11), 'the way of Balaam' (II Pet. 2:15) and 'the

pious youths learned clergy, or vain
pretenders to erudition; and they pray that they may preach to you;
yes, and pay them too.
Was there
ever such a craft as priestcraft? No, it is the craftiest of all crafts.

craftsmen, and then it makes the deluded support them!" (Campbell,

Both Mormons and Catholics
shudder because they both depend on forced giving
"Nay, rather, to
speak out more truly, the augurs,
the dream
interpreters, the
soothsayers, the prophets, and the priestlings, ever vain, have devised these fables; for they,
fearing that their own arts be brought to nought, and that they may extort
but scanty
contributions from the devotees, now few and infrequent,
whenever they have found you to
be willing that their craft
should come into disrepute, cry aloud, the Gods are neglected, and
in the temples there is now a
very thin
attendance.
Former ceremonies are exposed to derision, and
the
time-honoured rites
of institutions once
sacred have sunk before
the superstitions of new
religions.
And men--a senseless
race--being unable, from their inborn blindness, to see even that which is placed in open light,
dare to assert in
their frenzy
what you in your
sane
mind do not blush to believe. (Arnobius
Against the Heathen, Ante-Nicene Fathers, VI, p. 418)
When the WATER OF THE WORD is "free"
(Isaian 55) and from God, why should we PAY for someone to "wine it
down"? Jesus is our ONE AND ONLY MEDIATOR and to found an institution
built EXACTLY LIKE THE TEATER OF APOLLO (Abaddon, Apollyon) the
founder of the Seeker Center at Delphi in order to strip wealth from
a WIDOW'S PITTANCE is obscene and people are catching on and we
intend to help the world catch on to the fact that:
The GOSPEL Jesus
preached frees us from Doctors of the Law and demands that we send
out teacher to the FISH who are never going to be so attracted by
your net or HOOK that they will come to you, pay you and get their
nerves frazzled by music and, yes, Pay the Too.
