You may remember the Jubilee movement promoted
by Rubel Shelly? Well, after a historical sowing of discord and
offending thousands of "these little ones" the movement died when
people were taught to read the CODE of a somewhat secret society bent
on draging ANTI-instrument churches of Christ into the arms of the
Mother in Rome. Of course, the ANTI-instrument stress is an agreed-on
mantra to associate NOT bowing to Baal with some silly religious
practices. What they would have you NOT know is that the Bible and
all known literature associates "music" as a worship weapon with
Satan as indeed the Bible does by the "parable" of the king of Tyre
who was really a "queen" but wanted to be remembered as a male. She
was called the 'singing and harp playing prostitue." As king/queen of
Babylon she would and did go into Sheol with her harps and harpists.
As the end-time Babylonian whore worship she will go back to burn in
hell before peace comes again--with or without the York-Shelly
candles.
And the
voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers,
and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no
craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more
in thee; and the sound
of a millstone shall be
heard no more at all in thee; Rev 18:22
The craftsman of the Jubal, Jabal, Tubal-Cain
and Naamah "team" was call Koresh. Remember that name? In Revelation
the craftsmen are the techne. One of their functions was theater
building and stage management. The musicians were the MUSES known as
the locusts whom Abaddon or Apollyon wound unleash about this time.
As Apollyon he formed a famous Oracle of Delphi which was a Seeker
Center much like a "venue for Rock and Roll."
All of these false gods, goddesses and their
secret agents even now put a lot of emphasis on rhetorical speaking
and music. Of course, fire worship using candles has always been a
symbol of SATAN and not Jesus. Advent and all of the "festivals" are
a restoration of the religion of the Babylon Whore just as prophesied
and at the right time. I will not go into the background of these
CANDLES but they are a most obvious MARK of idol worship. Worship of
God takes place ONLY in our spirits as we "hold the thought of God in
our mind." When the rhetoricians, sophists, singers, musicians and
craftsmen as worship facilitators add CANDLES you know that the ONLY
purpose is to divert your eyes and mind off Jesus who WILL NOT be
there.
If you recall, the
first of the four advent
candles lit earlier in
this service was called the candle of hope. In the dark days Isaiah and his contemporaries
faced, they were called to live in hope of a better time. The people
of that time had chosen their own way instead of God's.

burning of
candles is undoubtedly
the result of fire
worship that dates back
to the beginning of time. It was found by early man that
fire could drive away the feared beasts of prey, make his food taste good, and warm his
body. Thus fire was found to be beneficial. Down through the ages man
has discovered the mystical properties of candle burning, associated
with various colors."
Cardinal Newman admits in his
book that; the "temples, incense, oil lamps, votive offerings, holy water, Holidays, and seasons of devotion, processions, blessings of the fields, sacerdotal
vestments, the tonsure (of priests, munks and nuns), images, and
statues... are all of PAGAN ORIGIN." -The Development of the Christian Religion

The Catholic Encyclopedia
also confesses that they got MUSIC from all common PAGAN
CULTS.
"Candles from the Catholic
Encyclopedia: The
word candle (candela, from candeo, to burn) was introduced into the
English language as an ecclesiastical term, probably as early as the
eighth century. It was known in classical times and denoted any kind
of taper in which a wick, not uncommonly made of a strip of papyrus,
was encased in wax or animal fat.
We need not shrink
from admitting that CANDLES, like incense and lustral water, were commonly
employed in pagan
worship and in the
rites paid to the DEAD.
But the Church from a very
early period took them into her service, just as she adopted many
other things indifferent in themselves, which seemed proper to
enhance the splendour of religious ceremonial.
We must not forget
that most of these adjuncts to worship, like MUSIC, LIGHTS,
perfumes, ablutions, floral decorations, canopies, fans, screens,
bells, vestments, etc. were not identified with any idolatrous cult in particular;
they were
COMMON TO ALMOST ALL
CULTS.

their Saturnalia in honour of the old vegetation-god at that time
with a great display of presents, CANDLES, and dolls
(probably a reminiscence of an earlier sacrifice of children). From the reign of the Emperor Aurelian (270-6), who introduced a SOLAR CULT (the S.U.N.
god) of a high ethical
character, December
25th was the
outstanding day of their calendar and was officially described as
"the Birthday of the Unconquered Sun." Joseph McCabe
ALIGN="JUSTIFY">Of the Saturnalia: Sir James George Frazer, in his classic study of
magic and religion (The Golden Bough, McMillan, 1976), says this
mock king was an
allusion back to the
idyllic days of the reign of Saturn and the slaves being given temporary freedom at this
time hearkened back to these days when all were free and things were
just (ibid., ix, p. 308 ff). Roman soldiers stationed on the Danube
in the reign of Maximian and Diocletian are recorded (by Franz
Cumont) to have chosen a young
and handsome
man to resemble Saturn from among them by lot thirty days
before the festival.
They dressed him in
royal attire to resemble Saturn. He went about in public
attended by a retinue of soldiers and indulged his passions no matter how base and shameful. At the end of
thirty days, he then cut
his own throat on the altar of the god he personated.
ALIGN="JUSTIFY">In the year 303, the lot fell upon the
Christian soldier Dasius
but he refused to play the part of the heathen god and to soil his
last days by debauchery. He refused to give in to the intimidation of
his commanding officer Bassus and was accordingly beheaded by the soldier John at Durostorum on Friday 20
November 303 being the twenty-fourth day of the Moon at the fourth
hour (Frazer, ibid.).
This is quite identical to
the AZTECS used by Rubel Shelly and Randy Harris as a PATTERN for
church renewal.
Rubel Shelly: The third text we have chosen to share
with you this morning parallels the third candle that was lit, a
candle of joy. It comes
from Isaiah 61. And the joy announced here is the bliss of both
deliverance and empowerment, the gladness of both salvation and
transformation
John York: Speaking of peace, as we were lighting the second candle a few moments ago -- the candle of
peace -- my mind raced to the parts of our planet this morning that
are anything but peaceful.
The BURDEN wich destroys peace
is "spiritual anxiety created by religious rituals." If you have
heard about our warfare with the Islamic world the notion of TRINITY
and charismatic or musical "worship" probably creates more hostility
and hatred of pseudo-Christianity than any othe thing. You can, in
fact, blame almost all wars on religionists fighting for turf. The
so-called Religious Wars in Africa rage at this moment. The
"christians" intend to take turf from the Muslims and the "holy
roller" forms of pagan worship CAME FROM tribalism and is most
powerful in recruiting new tribalists. Open war confesses a pastor
means that "we intend to take TERRITORY." Like almost all
religionists and their legalistic worship services, they are fighting
for money, control and turf. One can speculate that while there were
primary shakers and movers of this neo-paganism, Rubel Shelly has
been the point of the spear who has destroyed more PEACE than the
rest of the church can ever restore.
Lighting candles, if there are
any believers left in their hearing, will continue to DESTROY peace
and leave people spiritually and emotionally ABUSED and stripped of
wealth they clergy has NO BIBLICAL authority to rake in.
Rubel Shelly:
A shoot shall come out from the stump
of Jesse, and a branch
shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the LORD shall rest on
him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel
and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. His
delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what
his eyes see, or decide by what his ears hear; but with righteousness
he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the
earth; he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with
the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. Righteousness shall
be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his
loins (Isa. 11:1-5).
I know that many
translations do not capitalize the "S" of Spirit in this text,
because it is doubtful that Isaiah's original audience would have
understood Spirit as part of the Godhead.
As far as I can determine, and challenges have
been unmet, the FIRST time the world ever heard of the Shellyite
three separated persons of the "Family of God" was ad42 from H. Leo
Boles of David Lipscomb College and the Gospel Advocate. John Mark
Hicks assigns the credit or blame for popularizing this view to
Max Lucado and Rubel Shelly. The people of the time of
Isaiah understood SPIRIT and Rubel and John do not.
Pardon the color but we need to see that the SEVEN spirits which rest on
Messiah as THE BRANCH are the seven flames of the Menorah. The rest
of the PROOF that SPIRIT is MIND or the Word is here.
The seven-branched candlestick, often
called a "menorah," is used by Christians to represent the Holy
Spirit and its seven gifts: wisdom, understanding, counsel, might,
knowledge, fear of the Lord, and delight in the Lord.
"The practice of
lighting the candle appears to take place on the night before the day
of the Sun as
part of the ancient Sun
worshipping system.
In the Temple, incense was burned. Candles were not burned other than as
the Menorah. "
A Liddel and Scott search of
thousands of ancient Greek documents shows that Spirit is not a person. Rather, Spirit is the disposition of mind
of that being. Some
uses in Classical Greek are: tribulation of Spirit,
breathe a Spirit
of pride, darkly
brooding
Spirit, melancholy upon your Spirit,
Spirit of unruffled calm, unholy
Spirit or reckless, avenging Spirit,
an unholy
Spirit.
One example of "the gift of the Spirit " in this lexicon reads "the uncharitable gift to his Spirit." Doctors of the Spirit
instruct the mind,
and finally the request is made to "raise up Perseus' Spirit Spirit within my breast."
AND there shall
come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: Isa 11:1

Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of
wisdom and understanding, the Spirit
of counsel

On the other hand, the BRANCH of literal candles
and music
is the ABOMINABLE BRANCH
who is Satan under various names:
The Christmas-tree, as has been stated, was generally at
Rome a different tree, even the fir;
but the very same idea as was implied in the palm-tree was implied in
the Christmas-fir; for that covertly symbolised the new-born
God as Baal-berith, *
"Lord of the Covenant," and thus shadowed forth the perpetuity and
everlasting nature of his power, not that after having fallen before
his enemies, he had risen triumphant over them all.

Rubel Shelly: "And
when I tell you that Santa has been baptized, I'm echoing the
ancient
Christian
tradition of what one theologian dubbed "baptizing the
traditions of
secular
holidays in
the message of God's love that has been revealed in Jesus
Christ."
- Since the time of
Emperor
Constantine's conversion to Christ and his order to
"Christianize" the pagan feasts,
Christians have been
seeking to turn every symbol (mark IDOL) to the glory of God. Thus a midwinter festival to the
s-u-n was converted into a day of rejoicing over
the
S-o-n
of God. If Jesus is described by
biblical writers as the "Sun of Righteousness" and God's "true light coming into the world,"
what could be
more natural?
All this is to say
that one of the good things about "baptizing Santa
Claus" is to
dispel the false notion that Christians don't know how to
have
fun. That we
never lighten up. That we're perpetually guilty of some sort
of -- and this is Jack Hayford's term -- "sanctified Scroogism."

ALIGN="JUSTIFY">Only at baptism does God in Christ promise A holy Spirit
and the same Peter called it A clear conscience or consiousness which
means a co-perception. God makes OUR spirit holy as the only NEW
PLACE where He seeks us in worship. He is not worshipped in HOUSES
built of human hands nor by the works of human hands and despises
IDOLS of which candles are the most ancient, superstitious symbol and
substitute for the LIGHT or HOLY SPIRIT which God gives us when we
REQUEST it at baptism.
The word SPIRIT never speaks of a PERSON but a
nature or disposition of the Mind. God is HOLY SPIRIT where Holy is
not a first name but means pure or not contaminated with anything NOT
Spirit. That is, God is WHOLLY SPIRIT. Therefore, when God the Father
who was within Jesus Christ was the THOUGHT to which the WORD gave
utterance in our physical dimension. SPIRIT is that divine knowledge
which passes between Father and Son. This is why no one of note prior
to Max Lucado and Rubel Shelly were ever so UNspiritual that they
tried to make the Godhead into three members of the "god family" able
to hold committee meetings. The most common descriptions of the
Trinity is NEVER separated persons but of THOUGHT, WORD and BREATH or
that which propels thought into words.
Rubel Shelly John York: But it seems to me the capitalization makes all the
difference in our understanding of the promises of this text. The
wisdom and understanding and counsel
and might
are not about our human capacities but about God's transformation of
creation by becoming part of it. It is the God-presence that goes
beyond what human eyes can see and human ears can hear that announces
righteousness and faithfulness -- and gives both hope and peace -- in
our world.
That is why most of the world
has held the Bible to be THE authority for faith and practice and
Rubel Shelly and the SOCIETY of discording brethren claim that it is
outdated and THEY 'GONNA get a new batch of truth by PARTNERING with
God. See the Rubel Shelly - John York repudiation of the
WORD of God as
SPIRIT and therefore reject SPIRIT as divine knowledge transferred
only to baptized believers with a new, blood-sprinkled human
spirit.
Rubel Shelly:
The Spirit of the
Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has
anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news
to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty
to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year
of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort
all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them
a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called
oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display his glory
(Isa. 61:1-3).It was this text that Jesus searched for in the Isaiah
scroll handed him one day in the synagogue at Nazareth, read to the
people who were present that day, and said, "Today this scripture has
been fulfilled in your hearing" (Luke 4:16-21).
The God of Israel was a hyphenated form of
Yahweh. As Messiah in Zecharian He would be Jehovah- Saves. God would
send His ARM or RIGHT HAND to redeem or intercede because there was
NO MAN capable. Therefore, Christ is the CHRIST OF God or the
ANOINTED of God. God as Christ sent His Christ nature into the man
Jesus of Nazareth in whom full Deity dwelled:
Your attitude
should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus

who, though he
was God, did not demand
and cling to his rights as God, Phil 2:6
Like lying aside His garments
of majesty and glory as one lays his old garments on His own throne
and puts on other clothing.
but laid aside his mighty power
and glory,
taking the disguise of a slave and becoming like men. Phil 2:7
And he humbled himself even
further, going so far as actually to die a criminal's death on a
cross. Phil 2:8
Yet it was because of this that
God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name which
is above every other name, Phil 2:9
When Stephen looked and Saw God
he said "Lord Jesus." Therefore, the Christ is God's RIGHT HAND which
"slipped back" into His Godly clothing. His name is not just Jesus
the man but Joshua or Jehovah- Saves.
Rubel Shelly John York:
If God's Spirit -- and
I am spelling it with a capital-letter "S" here as well -- was
upon him, did enable him to bring good news, and provided "gladness
instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit,"
then we
do have
reason to
rejoice and sing,
to dance and testify.
But who could have believed he would do this as a
despised-and-rejected man?
Gregory-Nazianzen-Oration wrote what everyone before
the END-TIMES grasped:
22. But the
puffings and blowings of the fire (in which this
wonderful man, who reviles our rites, set an example to all old
ladies) when he was kindling the sacrificial flame, in what part of
our discourse shall we place them?
How fine a thing to behold the cheeks of the emperor of the Romans thus distorted, and
occasioning laughter, not merely to the outside world, but to the
very people whom he thought to please by acting thus! for he had
never heard of Minerva, his own goddess,
that cursed the
pipes by which she had disfigured her face, when instead of mirror she used
the pool; and the healths and loving-cups that he pledged in public
to the courtesans,21
and was pledged by them in return,

Julian, with all the zeal of a new convert, thought himself bound to

Protestant "perverts" revive practices and ideas at which the hereditary
Catholic smiles with pity and contempt, as the fungi of mediaeval ignorance.

80. Give me thy reasons, both
as an emperor, and as a sophist, thy conclusive arguments and syllogisms:

songs, and the music of thy
instruments," as my Prophet exhorts thee.

possessed by the Evil Spirit.
Let the torch-bearer put out

yourselves with righteousness, and with the garment of glory, instead of the spirit of sloth, and with that great

........... nor resounding with concerts and the clapping of hands----

the pride of a heathen
festivity.
But let not us glorify God, or
celebrate the present occasion with such things as these, wherewith
it is not fitting--
........... but rather with purity of soul and
cheerfulness of temper,
........... and with the lamps of the Church that illuminate the body,
I mean with godly contemplations, add thoughts raised aloft upon the Sacred Lamp-stand, and diffusing a light
over all the world I Compared to such a Light, I esteem as a mere
trifle all that men
light up when they hold
festival.
I have also a certain unguent,
but one wherewith only priests
and kings
are anointed, being of various ingredients and very 115 costly, and poured out for our sake,
but compounded by the art of the Great Ointment-maker.
Note 25: Alluding to the Golden Candlestick of
the Temple, greatly reverenced by Jews and Christians of that
age.
Oh, that it may be mine to offer up to God
the sweet savour of this ointment! I have likewise a table, this
spiritual one, which the Lord hath prepared for me,
when He rescued me
out of the hand of the oppressors, at the which I refresh myself and revel, yet do not
grow wanton out of fulness, but calm down all rebellion of my passions.
The very meaning of
external
odeing is to create
mental excitement, to rouse the passions with the intent of a related
word--heresy--to carry people away for their own USES.
Flowers, too, I have, more
blooming and lasting than all those of spring, "out of the full land
that the Lord hath blessed," that is, the holy and sweet-smelling
pastors and teachers, and all that is pure and choice of the
congregation; with these
do I desire to be
crowned and to go in procession, "having fought the good fight, having finished my
course, having kept the faith," according to the holy Apostle.
Let us take up
hymns instead of timbrils, psalmody instead of profane talking and songs, the applause of thanksgiving instead of the applause of the theatre, and action that is of good report, understanding instead of laughter,
The Spirit did not rest upon Jesus as a "little
family member" person type. Rather, the Spirit rested in the bodily
form of a Dove. The dove is the eternal symbol of the dove which
rested on the Babylon Mother Goddess triad. However, the Dove brought about a voice which
was not embodied in a man to prove that Jesus alone was God as Son
and He was FATHER made visible. This discounts the Gnosticism of the
"new style worship" of the feminine or effeminate.
John York:
And that is the fourth
candle of advent, the candle of love. To represent God faithfully in this world is to live
in Spirit-empowered purity amidst its filth, in Christ-honoring
submission while surrounded by rebels, in service to our loving
Father instead of sullen prodigals in flight from him. It means to
put his love on display as a bright light to push back Satan's dark purposes here. But this is
a 24/7 assignment for an entire year -- not just for the Christmas
Season.
Satan as the counterfeit BRANCH was really
promoted by "songs with instrumental music." Or as the "bright and
shining" branch. His LIGHT was made known as the Morning Star
counterfeit. He/ she was the Nachash or musical enchanter in the
garden of Eden. As the king/queen of Trye she is identified as the
"singing and harp playing prostitute." She USED this LIGHT to seduce
people out of their money, 'church attendance,' and souls.
Therefore, the concept of singing, music and
dancing is the MARK of the counterfeity BRANCH. The "lights" which
rests upon this Menorah Branch are seen in celebrative, rejoicing
forms of legalistic and ritualistic "worship" where music is the most
powerful "drug inducer" and habit former known to mankind.
Rubel Shelly:
So we lit advent
candles of hope and peace, joy and love this morning as a way of
affirming what happened 2000 years ago in the manger -- and some 30
years after that at Golgotha. We affirm what happened on the day of
Pentecost, when the Spirit of God was poured out on all flesh. We
affirm what happens in our own time when the transformation of water
and Spirit begins in a human life as God makes us his ambassadors of
reconciliation in this world. We pray "Lord, come quickly" even as we
sing "Joy to the World, the Lord is Come!"
One might suppose that following the pagan,
Babylon festival of lights they will be ready to CROWN the prostitute
goddess Ishtar, Astarte, Eve, Zoe or Mary.
John York:
A few months ago I was
introduced to a song that comes from the Taize community, and the
