Sodomites and Musical Worship

To say religion as "threskia" in the ancient world was to implicate Sodomy and Charismatic music. It is a fact that Sodomites served as temple servents but their practices seducing customers by music was not part of God's synagogue system. Sodomites might be priests or priestesses but Sodomotes were also those in Sodom who practiced sodomy.

This is a rebuttal of Arlene Robbins from the White Rock Community Church in Dallas contending that Sodomites lived in Sodom and were only RELIGIOUS HOMOSEXUALS. However, sodomy was wrong in or our of religion. In the Greek world, the legends of Zeus and his "lover" gave the Greek world permission to practice sodomy without trouble.

It is not uncommon in defending "civilian" homosexuality to ascribe the Biblical condemnation to cult or religious prostitution. To Robins a Sodomite does not define a citizen of Sodom. That is a fact, but the Hebrew word transled as Sodomite has no connection to Sodom but defines in most versions a male or female Cult Prostitute.

However, the Sodomites who wanted to KNOW the angels and even God Himself, were "civilian" homosexuals.

Therefore, Scripture condemns both cult prostitutes and homosexuals in every arena of life.

However, we are indebted to Robbins for testimony that the CULT HOMOSEXUALS are the only Biblical or historical form of Musical Praise Teams or Musical Worship Teams.

Therefore, since the Community Church is very often a METRIPOLITAN or pro-homosexual church, the urge to join the Community Church movement and to USE theatrical and musical performers pushes the HOMOSEXUAL PERFORMER vision into the faces of the "audience" even as the team claims to REPRESENT or IMAGE or be an IDOL of worship for others to imitate.

Pagans always believed that Homosexuality bound the body and flesh together. Therefore, the lust for musical worship teams automatically diminishes the witness of theatrical performers using singing, instruments, dancing and theater such as mime or drama.

Since most members of the church repudiate the HOMOSEXUAL image representing God as theyalways represented the homosexual "gods and goddesses," don't be surprized that they run away with the hair sticking up on the backs of their necks.

However, one doubts that male-female adultery in the cult sense would give authority for male-female adultery in the "civilian" sense. This is especially true since the Greek Homosexual religions reserved homosexuality for the Gods (or their agents) to use on the "worshipers."

Greenberg points out Hittite, Babylonian and Assyrian texts which refer to these male prostitutes. The texts picture assinu and kurgarru as

Paul restricts the clothing and conduct of women in the church assembly because not being sedentary (silent), putting on of apparel (in a liturgical sense), speaking publically or the "uncovered prophesying" of 1 Cor 11:5 would MARK the Corinthian and other women as LOOSE women USURPING the "preside over" role reserved for the elders.

Presiding over the flock "with a tune" does not minimize the violation of a direct command of Paul and COMMUNICATE to the watching world that the women and male performers are, consistent with all paganism, homosexuals claiming the universal power to lead you into the god's presence.

Even as Robbins gives permission for CIVILIAN homosexuality and its theatrical religious practices to, as we have heard, "lead you into the presence of the gods" she specificially repudiates the practice in a religious setting:

When God turned Israel over to "worship the starry host" she got her music from the same place:

He was drinking from a small bowl, and was being entertained by a court musician who stood before him plucking the strings of a lyre." (Harrison, R. K., Introduction to the Old Testament, Eerdmans, p. 335, see p. 411).

While David often praises God for His goodness, he also prays to awaken God (Psa. 3:7; 7:6; 9:19; 35: 23; 35:23; 44:23; 59:4-5; 68:1; 80:2; 132:8) from what he perceives as God's slumber when he does not respond promptly to David's demands. Many of the Jews adopted some of the psalms to pagan practices--

"We even have a mention at a later date of a similar custom in connection with the cult in Jerusalem, where certain Levites, called me'oreim, 'arousers,' sang (every morning?) this verse from Ps 44:23: "Awake, O Lord! Why do you sleep? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever."

"The Hithpa'el of nb', in the ancient texts, refers to ecstasy and delirium rather than to the emission of a 'prophecy,' 1 Sam. 10:5; 18:10; 19:20f). (de Vaux, p. 243)

The Talmud tells us that John Hyrcanus suppressed the practice because it recalled too readily a pagan custom." (de Vaux, p. 247).

Now, Robbins trys to use the word SODOMITE to condemn cult homosexuality but to approve ordinary homosexuality. However, it won't work. She asks:

1) Who were the Sodomites? What is the meaning of the term "sodomite"?

According to Unger's Bible Dictionary, the people of the area worshipped fertility gods, chief among them were Baal/Ashtoreth (Astarte, Asherah - she had many names). This was the female goddess of war and fertility, sensual love and maternity. "She and her colleagues specialized in sex and war and her shrines were temples of legalized vice" (Unger, p. 412).

Her worship practices were basically orgies, with worshippers required to have sex with the priests and priestesses. The priests or male prostitutes, according to Unger, who were consecrated to her cult "were styled qedishim, 'sodomites' (Deuteronomy 23:18; 1 Kings 14:24; 15:12; 22:46).

Here is how Unger describes "sodomite" based on scriptural references (p. 1035):

"Sodomite (Heb. qadesh, consecrated, devoted).

The sodomites were not inhabitants of Sodom, nor their descendents,

but men consecrated to the unnatural vice of Sodom (Gen. 19:5; compare with Romans 1:27) as a religious rite.

This is the TRUTH. However, there is nothing in the text from which SODOMITE could be translated. However, because Sodom was the sink of the practice of sodomy in a "civilian" sense the KJV translates CULT PROSTITUTE as a SODOMITE.

However, the LIE is to say that the gang rapers in the city of SODOM were cult or priestly SODOMITES. Robbins wants to dismiss them as homosexuals in a RELIGIOUS sense so that it is acceptable to be a homosexual in private life.

First, look at the perverted nature of the CITIZENS of the city of Sodom who are not called SODOMITES:

But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: Gen 19:4

Inspiration could have informed us that they were the CULT HOMOSEXUALS but it does not: the meaning is clear that it was the general homosexualy population of a generally homosexual city not worth saving.

Because the cult prostitutes were young, sexual and musical, we know that Robbins is wrong and Genesis is condemning the RUN OF THE MILL homosexual who was common, not cultic and therefore condemns ordinary homosexual practices:

And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. Gen 19:5

The cultic prostitutes who are defined in error as Sodomites had their own Worship Center with their own musical worship teams.

Sodom is not the word translated in the KJV as sodomite but is a word which identifies a city on the Dead Sea:

Cedom (h5467) sed-ome'; from an unused root mean, to scorch; burnt (i. e. volcanic or bituminous) district; Sedom, a place near the Dead Sea: - Sodom.

It is a fact that Sodom was more evil than others and may represent the "land of the slime pits" out of which Babylonian and Canaanite homosexuality dominated, God uses Sodom AS an example. In Amos 4 he equates Israel to Sodom and in chapters 5 and 6 implicates MUSICAL FESTIVALS as the cause of their lostness:

I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord. Am.4:11

I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. Je.23:14

Therefore as I live, saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them. Zep.2:9

Now what is the word the KJV translates as a Sodomite and which gives Robbins the authority to label the INHABITANTS OF SODOM as NOT of Sodom but of a roving band of homosexual religionists? First, look at its use:

There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel. De.23:17

This word had no relationship to the INHABITANTS of Sodom but is the usual word for a cult prostitute:

Qadesh (h6945) kaw-dashe'; from 6942; a (quasi) sacred person, i. e. (techn.) a (male) devotee (by prostitution) to licentious idolatry: - sodomite, unclean.

These cult prostitutes whose practice WAS LIKE THAT OF SODOM had "church houses" close by the house of the Lord: sure catch the temple people on their way to Jerusalem or other centers:

And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the Lord, where the women wove hangings for the grove. 2K.23:7

Qedesh (h6943) keh'-desh; from 6942; a sanctum; Kedesh, the name of four places in Pal.: - Kedesh.

Most of the versions including the NKJV do not translate this as Sodomite:

No Israelite man or woman is to become a shrine prostitute. Deut 23:17NIV

"None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, nor shall any of the sons of Israel be a cult prostitute. Deut 23:17NAS

"There shall be no ritual harlot of the daughters of Israel, or a perverted one of the sons of Israel. Deut 23:17NKJV

"There shall be no cult prostitute of the daughters of Israel, neither shall there be a cult prostitute of the sons of Israel. Deut 23:17RSV

"No prostitutes are permitted in Israel, either men or women; you must not bring to the Lord any offering from the earnings of a prostitute or a homosexual, for both are detestable to the Lord your God. Deut Deut 23:17LIV

This was the "price of a dog."

Therefore, Robbins is wrong and the cult prostitute does not define the INHABITANTS OF SODOM as religious homosexuals. Therefore, this cannot be used to prove that God DENOUNCED religious homosexuality but APPROVED individual, personal homosexuality.

Nevertheless, Robbins is correct in admitting that the only evidence for artistic performance in a religious sense (and therefore condemned) is this:

The texts picture assinu and kurgarru as
........... "religious functionaries particularly associated with the goddess Ishtar,
........... who danced, played musical instruments, wore masks,
........... ........... and were considered effeminate....
........... ........... such functionaries were believed to have magical powers...

'if a man touches the head of an assinu, he will conquer his enemy'...
........... 'if a man has intercourse with an assinu, trouble will leave him.'"

At the Towers of Babylon where the Musical Worship Teams get their ONLY authority:

"The temple was staffed by priests, priestesses, musicians, singers, castrates and hierodules (Temple Prostitutes). Various public rituals, food sacrifices, and libations took place there on a daily basis. There were monthly feasts and annual, New Year celebrations. During the later, the king would be married to Inanna as the resurrected fertility god Dumuzi..." -

Asherah: Queen of Heaven, Ashtoreth, Athirat, Astarte, and Ishtar. Her "male" priestesses were known as kelabim, the faithful "dogs" of the Goddess, who practiced divinatory arts, danced in processions, and served as hierodules, qedeshim, in the company of other priestesses. Goddess worship were largely erased in a cultural purge c. 630 BCE by King Josiah.

"there may have been large numbers of eunuchs, as well as temple slaves. Merlin Stone believes that "sacred women" celebrated their sexuality and fertility by making love in Eanna in Inanna's name. This seems to be supported as that H.R. Hays says that there were temple prostitutes associated with Inanna, which is not too out of line as that she is supposed to be the goddess of prostitutes." (Interpreter's Dict of the Bible, Music, p. 461).

These same Jewish DOGS encircled and Mocked Jesus musically before they stuck Him on the cross as a universal phallic symbol.

Therefore, when we see RELIGIOUS FUNCTIONARIES engaged in dancing, playing musical instruments and wearing masks (drama or pantomime) we SEE THEM as EFFEMINATE. And therefore, if they have the power "to lead you into the presence of God" we know that other than by the Death of Jesus Christ the only PRECIDENT is bound up in real or VIRTUAL intercourse with the cult prostitute to allow US to come as CLOSE TO THE GODS as the theatrical performer.

Rather than homosexually just being LUMPED in with other sins, Paul repeated exactly what God told Moses when Israel "rose up to play" at Mount Sinai and God "turned them over to worship the starry host" all associated with homosexuality. The message is that God turns you over to slavery to that which you LUST AFTER:


The practices of homosexuality and other sins were the result of idolatry and ignoring the Word of God.

Robbins uses Romans 1 in a parallel sense to show that Paul ONLY condemned religious homosexuality. And we noted above that the cultic homosexuality was intimately connected to singing, dancing and playing musical instruments.

We proved that the SODOMITES were really cult prostitutes and the word has NOTHING to do with the inhabitants of Sodom who were condemned for "civilian" homosexuality.

However, HOMOSEXUALITY is both a cause and MARK of this musical or theatrical performance and there is NO BIBLICAL or historical tid bit of evidence to associate musical performance with Christianity.

Therefore, women "pastors" acknowledge Sophia-Zoe who is the Inanna character as their worshipful goddess and restoration of the Agape or "love feast" is part of the effort.

Here is the way it begins and musical performance by gender-neutral people is PROOF that the Word of God has been abandoned:

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Romans 1:21

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Romans 1:22

And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man (idolatry of talent), and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Romans 1:23

As all of the "common" Israelites were involved in "rising up to play" at Mount Sinai. This repudiated God's covenant of grace and He turned them over to worship the STARS always personified by a "roving planet" or "wandering star" who imitates the cosmos by their song and dance and drama:

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Romans 1:24

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Romans 1:25

Theatrical or musical performers like to claim and lie that they "focus" the minds of the audience on Christ. Of course, this cannot be minimal honesty: they know that they are the focus and it is impossible to focus on the non-singing and dancing Jesus while GIVING HEED to the CREATURE and to the words of the CREATURE.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: Romans 1:26

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. Rom 1:27

Robbins claims that "nature" means that they were just going against that which they had naturally been taught. However, natural is:

Phusikos (g5446) foo-see-kos'; from 5449; "physical", i.e. (by impl.) instinctive: - natural. Comp. 5591.

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; 2Pe.2:12

Again, "nature" does not relate to their cultural conditioning:

Phusis (g5449) foo'-sis; from 5453; growth (by germination or expansion), i.e. (by impl.) natural production (lineal descent); by extens. a genus or sort; fig. native disposition, constitution or usage: - ([man-]) kind, nature ([-al]).

For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Ro.11:21

Homosexuality is AGAINST the inbuilt nature of mankind. However, when they abandon God and His Word and begin to worship the CREATURE and ignore the CREATOR, God turns loose the natural inclinations and sexual perversion is the MARK of that disconnect with the Creator:

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Romans 1:28

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Romans 1:29

This proves that the homosexuals in Romans were not just religious theatrical singers and actors. Rather, their homosexual performers was the RESULT of having repudiated the Word of God the CREATOR.

In Romans 10 Paul warns them and in 1 Cor 10 he warns against the homosexual and musical "rising up to play" which happened at Mount Sinai and would happen in Corinth if they rejected the Words of Christ.


However, among the Greeks the RELIGIOUS homosexuality reserved for the GODS, DID NOT give permission for "civilian homosexuality."

Arnobius identifies another "mark" of the beast and refutes Robbin's claim:

Moreover, not content to have ascribed to the gods love of women, do you also say that they lusted after men? Some one loves Hylas; another is engaged with Hyacinthus; that one burns with desire for Pelops; this one sighs more ardently for Chrysippus;

"Catamitus is carried off to be a favourite and cup-bearer; and Fabius, that he may be called Jove's darling, is branded on the soft parts, and marked in the hinder.

Ganymede: 

"Upon hearing that Ganymede was to be cup bearer as well as Zeus' lover, the infinitely jealous Hera was outraged.

Therefor Zeus set Ganymede's image among the stars as the constellation Aquarius, the water carrier. Aquarius was originally the Egyptian god over the Nile. The Egyptian god poured water not wine from a flagon.

Remember that Stephen says that God "turned them over to worship the starry host" as a result of their musical idolatry at Mount Sinai which included perversion. Watch out for people who see this as an example for Christian worship and community and speak of baptizing the S.U.N. God to think about the S.O.N. god:

Revelation 18 defines the Babylon Harlot musical team and declares that that which they LUSTED AFTER will be lost. Just as the:

Will return to Sheol,

And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; Rev 18:22

The "grinders" uncovered themselves to make extra money.

Moreover the Lord saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: Isa 3:16

Dakah (h1794) daw-kaw'; a prim. root (comp. 1790, 1792); to collapse (phys. or mentally): - break (sore), contrite, crouch.

A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth. Pro 6:12

He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; Pro 6:13
Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. Pro 6:14

Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy. Pro 6:15


Irenaeus used the word "Sodomites" and did not make them into a religious order:

And again Jeremiah says,

"They are become like horses, furious about females; each one neighed after his neighbour's wife." And Isaiah, when preaching in Judea, and reasoning with Israel, termed them "rulers of Sodom" and "people of Gomorrah;"

intimating that they were like the Sodomites in wickedness,
and that the
same description of sins was rife among them,
calling them by the same name, because of the similarity of their conduct.

And inasmuch as they were not by nature so created by God, but had power also to act rightly, the same person said to them, giving them good counsel,

"Wash ye, make you clean; take away iniquity from your souls before mine eyes; cease from your iniquities."

Thus, no doubt, since they had transgressed and sinned in the same manner,
........... so did they receive the same reproof as did the Sodomites.

But when they should be converted and come to repentance, and cease from evil, they should have power to become the sons of God, and to receive the inheritance of immortality which is given by Him.

For this reason, therefore, He has termed those "angels of the devil," and "children of the wicked one," who give heed to the devil, and do his works. But these are, at the same time, all created by the one and the same God.

When, however, they believe and are subject to God, and go on and keep His doctrine, they are the sons of God; but when they have apostatized and fallen into transgression, they are ascribed to their chief, the devil-to him who first became the cause of apostasy to himself, and afterwards to others.

In another book, Irenaeus said:

3. Salvation will be the attainment only of those souls which had learned his doctrine; while the body, as having been taken from the earth, is incapable of sharing in salvation.

In addition to his blasphemy against God Himself, he advanced this also, truly speaking as with the mouth of the devil, and saying all things in direct opposition to the truth,-
