Russ Adcox of the Maury Hills Church (ex of Christ) in his blog is working on the Law of Silence to justify fellowship with the Christian Church. This, as in the case of his mentors, is on the path to adding instrumental music. Otherwise, how is it that he has so much free time to "fellowship" instrumentalists and charismatics and destroys fellowship of others by doing so and LIFTING the name of CHRIST from Maury Hills Church? In Hohenwald he ripped the county churches apart so that he could prove his spirituality by working with a denominational group. Does the world REALLY need to be AFFIRMED to make the faith of Russ valid? Jesus SENT evangelists preach the gospel which can be AIDED only at the peril of exhalted people. In the world of simple simon, the word SPEAK means the OPPOSITE of poetry and music as the word MUSIC is the opposite of SOUND MIND.
The Spirit OF (preposition) Christ in the Prophets defined the future REST when Messiah came. All of the Prophets--as the work product of Christ--repudiates the ancient and modern "worship service" which is defined as hard bondage. Jesus whom God made to be both Lord and Christ made the Prophets more certain. Peter said that this eye- and ear- witness cannot be privately interpreted meaning further expounded. Those who preach or sing beyond "that which is written for out learning" as marked as false teachers.

If you have a minimalist grasp of the assembly, Qahal or "church in the wilderness" in Numbers you understand that the Sabbath or REST defined reading and rehearsing the Word of God and OUTLAWED the alarm or triumph over which included instruments and 'making a joyful noise before the Lord.' This musical MOCKERY was prophesied of Judas trying to divert Jesus from His purpose.
These false elders and preachers will find not one jot or tittle of Biblical or historical evidence which does not grasp that music is EXCLUDED when you want to engage the SPIRIT or MIND.
Using special music for special "keeping of days" automatically SOWS DISCORD with all of those once considered brethren. No one doubts that special use intends to FULL USE.
We have shown on the Richland Hills forum that even after a decade hidden but active agenda, the preacher still had to lie about every Biblical passage and historical scholar. These people have been SORCERIZED or "Saucerized" by self-seeking people because the PROOF TEXTS come verbatim from men like Tom Burgess who lies about all of the PLUCKING history. Furthermore, in context, all of these plucking the harp references point to older males seducing young male "ministers of the gods" whose hair had been plucked.
Russ Adcox returned to Hohenwald filled with ACU, Max Lucado and the Purpose Driven Cult and created shudders before he arrived. He tried to introduce the Purpose Driven "Cult" and began "fellowshiping" a denominational church and leading the youth in that direction. At the same time there was a move to add the little erotic "praise singing" and brought in a "preacherling" known NOT to believe in baptism and saw no problem with instrumental music. The gongs and clangs was that of becoming a community church (commune) by removing the name of CHRIST. Our little town will someday build a momument to something more notorious than the OK corral shootout. See the letters after trying to reason with the "elders."
THE LAW OF SILENCE.
Of course, to the Bible reader, God has never been silent about always connecting music as worship as a Satanic device to silence the Word-Based discipline of a Spirit God whom you cannow worship with your body. Jesus exampled and Paul commanded the ekklesia as a school of the Bible where the ACT is called SPEAKING. SPEAK is defined as the opposite of poetry or music. That is because poets and musicians write myts and never true history. Furthermore everyone knew that they "set their lies to melodies to deceive the simple minded."
No one in church history THOUGHT that God had been silent. It is, indeed, Russ and his mentors who use the LAW of silence. They say, "God hath NOT said 'thous shalt not use macines' so we are going to do it KNOWING that we will sow discord.

T.B. Larimore (1843-1929) was a preacher in our heritage around the time of the split over instrumental music. He refused to make it an issue (i.e. was silent where the Bible is silent). Throughout his ministry he continued preaching in both instrumental and non-instrumental churches. Naturally, he was criticized sharply. In 1897 someone wrote an article in the Christian Standard demanding that Larimore take a side in the debate. Here's part of Larimore's response:
Never, publicly or privately, have I expressed opinion or preference relative to any of these "matters"...over which brethren are wrangling and disputing and dividing the church of Christ--NEVER. Rather, I am for Christ and I believe I can do for him, his cause and humanity without meddling in these "matters"; hence I let them alone, and just

T.B.Larimore was not noted for being controversial. T.R.Burnett who denied that the Church of Christ ever "belonged" to the Disciples and so could NOT have split commented while DENYING Russ a role on the good ship church.
"The city churches know very well how to settle the pastor question, and stop the division over that issue.
Just send the hired preacher out to preach the gospel, which is his scriptural duty,
and restore the elders to their Bible functions. But will they do it? Prof. T. B. Larimore once held a meeting that continued five months.
At the last sermon there were five confessions, and he said the meeting closed "too soon."
He wants to hold a meeting (before he dies) that shall continue one year. He is only seventy-two. Burnett's Budget

Larimore knew that DIVISION was in the air and as soon as he left the division happened:
“I am for Christ,” he said, “and I believe I can do more for him, his cause and humanity without meddling with these ‘matters’; hence I let them alone, and just simply ‘preach the Word,’ ‘the gospel of Christ’, the power of God unto salvation.” Larimore refused to make the issues of his day a matter of fellowship.
He stated, “Shall I now renounce and disfellowship all of those who do not understand these things exactly as I understand them? They may refuse to recognize or fellowship or affiliate with me; but I will never refuse to recognize or fellowship or affiliate with them- NEVER.” He confessed,
“I am as apt to be wrong as my brother for neither of us is infallible.” And for this reason he concluded, “I must love my brethren, and never refuse to fellowship them- ANY OF THEM- simply because we do not always understand all questions exactly alike.”
“I am for Christ,” he said, “and I believe I can do more for him, his cause and humanity without meddling with these ‘matters’; hence I let them alone, and just simply ‘preach the Word,’ ‘the gospel of Christ’, the power of God unto salvation.”
Russ, is of course reading from Douglas Foster naively asserts, "if everyone had had T. B. Larimore's attitude, the problems would never have been blown up into divisive issues in the first place" (Ibid. p. 158). Either he doesn't know or chooses not to mention that the progressive brethren did not have that sweet, passive spirit. They were determined to have instruments in our churches and involve all in their missionary societies. They pushed their agenda and even resorted to stealth to gain control of congregations. If all had passively stood by, all would have been swept away. The same is true today.
That is how Purpose Driven Cultists boast about how to infiltrate and divert a church: we call that lying, cheating and stealing.
Russ is wrong: the INSTRUMENTALISTS had already SPLIT the church.
During the controversy, Bro. Larimore held a lengthy gospel meeting for the church in Sherman, Texas. Dr. Foster mentions that the progressives of the church in Sherman were meeting at separate times from the conservatives so they could worship with their instruments (Ibid. p.152). This is similar to the "alternative services" modern change agents use to get a foot hold in a conservative church. A year later he notes that the "pro-instrument faction withdrew to form what they called the First Christian Church" (Ibid.). If our change folks cannot take the property, you can expect them to leave in order to worship as they wish.
In time of war, every patriotic citizen does his part to help his nation through the conflict. Some produce food, others produce war materials. Some are warriors, some are medics. Some drive supply trucks, others fly bombers that rain death on the enemy. Some plan strategies, others process the paperwork. But all who faithfully do their part are good citizens who together serve their nation. So it is in the church. While we do not fault Bro. Larimore's passive stand, but neither should we fault Tolbert Fanning, David Lipscomb, Jacob Creath, Jr., Benjamin Franklin or the other noble men who fought valiantly to save a remnant from the apostasy that confronted them. Worse than being divisive, the introduction of musical "worship" has always been a mark of gender confused people who at the same time are quite Biblically illiterate.
THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST DEFINES THE LAW OF SILENCE WHICH PAUL APPLIED TO BOTH MALE AND FEMALE IN THE CHURCH.
In Isaiah 58 Christ will make a LAW against seeking your own pleasure or even SPEAKING your own Words. Jesus exampled this by STANDING UP to Read from Isaiah and then SAT DOWN. There was no preaching other than "giving attendance to the public READING of the Word and exorting or COMFORTING by Scripture and defining the DOCTRINE or Law of Christ in the prophets.
Remembering that the PROPHETS by the Spiurit OF Chist along with the Apostles are THE only foundation for building or EDUCATING the Ekklesia or A Church of Christ. He defines the LAW OF SILENCE over and over.
The Ekklesia as A Church of Christ or Paul's use of SYNAGOGUE demanded the silencing of all of the performing arts so that they could "use one mind and one mouth to speak that which is written for our learning."

Ancient literature from Babylonian tablets and beyond agree with Johannes Quasten. In Music and Worship in Pagan and Christian Antiquity, beginning on page 41 He uses many of the church Fathers and Classical resources we also rely upon:
"Philodemus considered it paradoxical that music should be regarded as veneration of the gods while musicians were paid for performing this so-called veneration. Women's singing was a vital part of all pagan worship. In very early times women became priestly singers of the gods in the temple.
