Rick Atchley Hearing from God

Rick Atchley Lectio Divina Daily Prayer Exercise: The spiritual exercise for this week is called lectio divina, which is a Latin term meaning “divine reading.” It is a prayerful way of reading the Bible that involves listening with the heart. The idea is to read through a passage of scripture several times listening for a word or a phrase that jumpsout at you (allow God’s Word to speak to you). This week we are going to read a different passage three times each day paying attention to the impact the words have on our hearts. First reading: slowly read the passage through one time. Then be silent for a minute or two. Second reading: slowly read the passage once again, pausing between phrases and be aware of words or phrases that jump out at you (write these words down). Third reading: read the passage again but this time stop at the word or phrase that touched you. Reflect for a few moments on the phrase that moved you. Let it interact with your thoughts, your memories or other scriptures that come to mind. Spend some time in prayer reflecting on these questions: What might God want to say to me today? What am I being asked to do as a result of the word I have been given? How does this apply to my life right now?

When you follow the ACU and LU Ignatius Meditations you are getting in bed with the military wing (Jesuits) tasked to force people to affirm the Pope's rule or be executed.  The Inquisitions seem to be alive and well where anyone who does not follow the femine and effeminate preacherhood will never be able to buy and sell at the Church Councils held at once Christian Bible Colleges.

THE ONLY ROLE FOR AN EVANGELIST:

1Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,
        giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron
1Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to [public] reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
1Timothy 4:14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee,
        which was given thee by prophecy, [teaching]
        with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
1Timothy 4:15 Meditate upon these things;
        give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
1Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine;
        continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

"The word that is employed for this "anaginosko, anagnosis) is the technical term for the cultic reading aloud of the Old Testament in the synagogue. By applying this terminology to the reading of his own epistles he not only ascribes the same authority to the apostolic word as to the Old Testament writings... He also combines a quotation from the Old Testament with a word of Jesus and introduces the whole with the familiar formula: 'for the Scripture says.'" (Ridderbos, Hermon, Paul, P. 483 an Outline of His Theo., Eerdmans)

The COMMAND is to "use one mind and one mouth to teach that which is written for our learning" or the Scriptures for our COMFORT: Jesus is our Paraklete.

This means to KNOW AGAIN: The PATTERN from the wilderness onward was to Rest, Read and Rehearse the Word: Excluded was rhetoric, singing or playing instruments. The PATTERN of Reading and Repeating the Scriptures is THE meaning of preaching.

Since, Rick Atchley acted as a prophet saying that God PREDICTED instrumental music for HIS church we might note:
The Satires of Horace identifying human DIVINA as fortune telling or WITCHCRAFT.

Divina.gif Hor. Od. 3.1
Bid the unhallow'd crowd avaunt!
Keep holy silence; strains unknown
Till now, the Muses' hierophant,
I sing to youths and maids alone.
Kings o'er their flocks the sceptre wield;
E'en kings beneath Jove's sceptre bow:
Victor in giant battle-field,
He moves all nature with his brow.
This man his planted walks extends
Beyond his peers; an older name
One to the people's choice commends;
One boasts a more unsullied fame;
One plumes him on a larger crowd
Of clients. What are great or small?
Death takes the mean man with the proud;
The fatal urn has room for all.
When guilty Pomp the drawn sword sees
Hung o'er her, richest feasts in vain
Strain their sweet juice her taste to please;
No lutes, no singing birds again
Will bring her sleep. Sleep knows no pride;

"In Richard Foster’s book, Devotional Classics, he quotes 16th Century mystic Madame Guyon to describe the practice, “…make use of scripture to quiet your mind. First read a passage of scripture. Once you sense the Lord’s presence, the content of what you read is no longer important. The scripture has served its purpose; it has quieted your mind; it has brought you to him. …You should always remember that you are not there to gain an understanding of what you have read; rather you are reading to turn your mind from the outward things to the deep parts of your being. You are not there to learn or to read, but you are there to experience the presence of your Lord!”

The dangers inherent in opening our minds and listening for voices should be obvious. The contemplative pray-ers are so eager to hear something—anything—that they can lose the objectivity needed to discern between God’s voice, their own thoughts, and the infiltration of demons into their minds. Satan and his minions are always eager for inroads into the minds of the unsuspecting, and to open our minds in such ways is to invite disaster. We must never forget that Satan is ever on the prowl, seeking to devour our souls (1 Peter 5:8) and can appear as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), whispering his deceptive lies into our open and willing minds.

Arnobius writing (A.D. 297-303) Ridicules instrumental music in worship and Charismatic Worship as idolatrous.

In a footnote on the first page of Book I the editor notes that-

The words insanir, m bacchari, refer to the appearance of the ancient seers when under the influence of the deity. The meaning is, that they make their asserverations with all the confidence of a seer when filled, as he pretended, with the influence of the god." (Arnibious, Ante-Nicene, VI, p. 413)

He notes that it is childish that the gods of the pagans were not interested in heavenly things but with the courser things of earth. However, he is aware that the professional religionists devised the myths and fables to fool fools. They felt this need because "we need to do something about the falling attendance."

Nay, rather, to speak out more truly, the augurs, the dream interpreters, the SOOTHSAYERS, the prophets, and the PRIESTLINGS, ever vain, have devised these fables; for they,fearing that their own arts be brought to nought, and that they may extort but scanty contributions from the devotees, now few and infrequent, whenever they have found you to be willing that their craft should come into disrepute, cry aloud, the Gods are neglected, and

in the temples there is now a very thin attendance. For ceremonies are exposed to derision, and the time-
honoured rites of institutions once sacred have sunk before the superstitions of
new religions.

And men--a senseless race--being unable, from their inborn blindness, to see even that which is placed in open light, dare to assert in their frenzy
what you in your sane mind
do not blush to believe. (Arnobius Against the Heathen, Ante-Nicene Fathers, VI, p. 418).

Rick Atchley said that the Holy Spirit took years to TELL Him that God Commands Instrumental Praise and WE must not disobey: that was enough to get him on the ACU, PEPPERDINE and the NACC Lecturships as maybe a PROPHET.  Telling people that you are the EXCEPTION to God saying that He speaks now only through His SON is certainly enough psychological violence to make the simple minded afraid to cross you.   When God pours out His wrath or ORGY He sends strong delusions and turns the person into a jester or buffoon.  His brethren wanted Jesus to go up to the opening days of the Feast of Tabernacle and show off His superior talent: Jesus knew that the singers, players, dancers, speakers and others would be waiting to murder Him.  Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees or doctors of the law, hypocrites: the Spirit OF Christ in Ezekiel 33 named entertaining speakers for pay, singers and instrument players. This was the MARK of those who will do anything and travel anywhere to hear someone try to silence Jesus.

See Rick Atchley actually silence the BLACK text on BROWN Paper where Christ REPUDIATES music as the weapon of violence and sorcery.
Xen. Mem. 1.4.10 “Really, Socrates, I don't despise the godhead. But I think it is too great to need my service.”

“Then the greater the power that deigns to serve you, the more honour it demands of you.”

-Aristoph. Wasps 1292 All applauded excepting Theophrastus, [1315] who made a grimace as behoved a well-bred man like him. The old man called to him, "Hi! tell me then what you have to be proud of? Not so much mouthing, you, who so well know how to play the buffoon and to lick-spittle the rich!" In this way he insulted each in turn with the grossest of jests, [1320] and he reeled off a thousand of the most absurd and ridiculous speeches. At last, when he was thoroughly drunk, he started towards here, striking everyone he met. Wait, here he comes reeling along. [1325] I will be off for fear of his blows.
-kōmōdo-loikheō , play the parasite.

The Jacob-cursed and God abandoned levites as Rick Atchley's PATTERN stood in ranks to execute any Rick Atchley who attempted to take rhetoric, singing or playing into what they thought of as a holy place. ALL sacrificial musicians were called PARASITES: a parasite lives off the food of widows and honest workers CLAIMING that they heard God commanding that you feed them with tithes and offerings which God did NOT command.

--Xenophon, Memorabilla. [10] But I hold that they who cultivate wisdom and think they will be able to guide the people in prudent policy never lapse into violence: they know that enmities and dangers are inseparable from violence, but persuasion produces the same results safely and amicably. For violence, by making its victims sensible of loss, rouses their hatred: but persuasion, by seeming to confer a favour, wins goodwill. It is not, then, cultivation of wisdom that leads to violent methods, but the possession of power without prudence.

Sinai Summit: Meeting God With Our Character Crisis - Rick Atchley ...

Unredeemable character exposed by musical idolatry.

The Spirit OF Christ who defines the future Ekklesia both inclusively and exclusively and affirms that musical idolatry has no redemption.

There were, in the Middle Ages, two different types of jesters, morally subnormal (under the norm) but not mentally deranged individuals whose acknowledged, socially "deviant" behavior is acceptable as a source of entertainment: a) buffoons who used BODILY EXCESSES, gossips, and TRICKS to entertain audiences in the MARKETPLACE and during popular festivities, and b) court-jesters who entertained at court.

the Middle Ages there was a widespread belief that good-humored joking
protected a person from misfortune. Therefore, the jesters were considered naturally "lucky" and as such could transfer their good fortune to their noble PATRONS. Indeed, the court prince (or king) often charged the jesters with the task of continually PROVOKING his courtiers in order to DEFLECT pent-up frustration or WRATH away from himself and the other noblemen and ladies.

They became a sort of SCAPEGOAT or living MASCOT who could, through PRANKS and witty banter, bring good luck to his master and likewise "ABSORB" social FRICTION. It is because of this special social function that court jesters were generally exempted from censorship and were allowed to behave in ways which would have been unacceptable for other members of the court.

(B. C) Welsford, Enid. The Fool, his Social and Literary History London: Faber & Faber,1968.

-FOOL, also called Jester, a comic entertainer whose madness or imbecility, real or pretended, made him a source of amusement and gave him license to abuse and poke fun at even the most exalted of his patrons. Professional fools flourished from the days of the Egyptian pharaohs until well into the 18th century

Fool figures
played a part in the religious rituals of India and pre-Christian Europe, and, in some societies, such as that of Ireland in the 7th century BC, they were regarded as being inspired with poetic and prophetic powers.

The raillery of the fool and his frequent ritual association with a mock king suggest that he may have originated as a sacrificial scapegoat substituted for a royal victim. A resemblance between the sacrificial garments of ancient ritual and the costume of a household jester in the Middle Ages..coxcomb, eared hood, bells, and bauble, with a motley coat..has been noted.

And after all this misery they have given you a necklace of honour, as they hang a girdle of bells round the breast of an ass to deafen it on its journey, and prevent it from feeling fatigue. A man like you, braver than Pyrrhus! If only you had wished it!

Ah! how happy will you be in large cool halls, with the sound of lyres, lying on flowers, with women and buffoons! Do not tell me that the enterprise is impossible. Have not the Mercenaries already possessed Rhegium and other fortified places in Italy? Who is to prevent you? Hamilcar is away; the people execrate the rich; Gisco can do nothing with the cowards who surround him. Command them! Carthage is ours; let us fall upon it!"
In this bold and inspiring book, Rick Atchley takes us back to the Sinai Summit. ... What Men Need to Hear: Becoming God's Spiritual Leader Through Moral leaders:

Abilene Christian University Press, Jun 1, 2003 - Religion - 239 pages
The greatest problem in America today is a character deficit. And the greatest need is to find an ethical code that will guide and sustain us in any and every circumstance - an absolute value system on which we can build our lives and our communities. As long as we continue to use ourselves as the standard for right and wrong, the quest for character will fail. We need to return to the Sinai Summit. There, as we encounter God's holy presence, we begin to understand that God alone is the moral center, the only eternal standard of good. In the TEN COMMANDMENTS - God's Code of Ethics - we find a moral creed by which we can become people of character. In this bold and inspiring book, Rick Atchley takes us back to the Sinai Summit. He shows how God's timeless words - the Ten Commandments - speak to today's world, and how they can give us the foundation for a healthy and fulfilled life. Excellent for Bible classes and study groups. Discussion questions included for each chapter.

We will prove from reading the text that it was the Vocal and Instrumental idolaters at Mount Sinai whose moral code was so deficiet that God sentenced the to BEYOND BABYLON which is the Revelation 17-1 mark of the Babylon Mother of Harlots restoring the speakers, singers and instrument players: John calls them SORCERERS and says that they WILL be cast alive into the Lake of Fire.  Claiming to be guided by a Holy Spirit person beyond the sacred pages and then playing the jester or buffoon is a burnable offense.
Heb. 12:18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched,
        and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
Heb. 12:19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words;
        which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
Heb. 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God,

Heb. 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn [Church of Christ],

Heb. 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant,

The Church of Christ is the only apparent group on earth which does not repudiate that but confesses it to its great but promised persecution.
Heb. 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,
    having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience,

        For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth,
        much more shall not we escape,

14 Take your pipes: The "Tibicines," "Pipers" or "flute-players," among the Greeks and Romans, were in the habit of playing upon two pipes at the same time. These were perfectly distinct, and were not even, as has been supposed by some, connected by a common mouth-piece. The Romans were particularly fond of this music, and it was introduced both at sacrifices, funerals, and entertainments. See a comical story about the Roman "Tibicines" in the Fasti of Ovid, B. 6, l. 670 et seq. From the present specimen they appear to have been merry souls, occupying much the same place as the country fiddlers of modern times.

This is a quick review of various notes from Pepperdine 2012 confessing to teach young preachers to defect from their HIRERS.

Beyond the hearing range of doctors of the law "who take away the key to knowledge" is Jesus saying that God HIDES from the wise: they are SOPHISTS meaning slick speakers, singers and instrument players.  Rick Atchley says that a spirit told him that God REVEALS to the sophists: preachers, singers and instrument players.

The Spirit OF Christ in the prophets (off limits to theologians) commanded we simple people NOT to pay for the FREE water of the Word. Rick Atchley etal have a BUSINESS selling their own teachings.

The Spirit OF Christ outlawed seeking your own pleasure (the speaking, singing, playing, acting hypocritic roles) OR speaking your own words.  Rick Atchley hears from a god and repudiates the Word of Christ in the prophets and apostles as the only building (educating) resource for the School of Christ.

Moral depravity was proven to be forgivable when done in ignorance.  However, Christ in Isaiah 30 says that the marks in sight and sound of God driving His enemies into "hell" are the wind, string and percussion instruments.  Christ in the prophets says that Lucifer (Zoe) was the singing and harp-playing prostitute in the garden of Eden.  The End-Time "spirit" insists that women NOT be silent and the men NOT arouse wrath or ORGY that musical thingy. The PURPOSE is so that "everyone be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth."  The grand CABAL is well documented by published sermons and what Ezekiel called Workshops of Evil where "prophets" go to steal words one from one another. Ezekiel especially warned against female or effeminate "prophesiers."
Cabal is a group of people united in some close design together, usually to promote their private views or interests in a church, state, or other community, often by intrigue. Cabals are sometimes secret societies composed of a few designing persons, and at other times are manifestations of emergent behavior in society or governance on the part of a community of persons who have well established public affiliation or kinship. The term can also be used to refer to the designs of such persons or to the practical consequences of their emergent behavior, and also holds a general meaning of intrigue and conspiracy.
You will never see what they whiningly call a conservative as a PHEROMONE at one of these gatherings where MUSIC has always been the marks of women and BOYS ruling over you
Pheromone The term "pheromone" was introduced by Peter Karlson and Martin Lüscher in 1959, based on the Greek word pherein (to transport) and hormone (to stimulate).
The Bloggers and Bloggettes and young preachers trained in theology treate the gurus who make it on the Lecture Circuit in an embarassing way: to question one is to threaten a relationship. Jesus died to REMOVE the Laded Burdens and Burden Laders.  However, it is burden laders "seeing godliness as a means of financial gain" or occupation who are lke the MANY pretend preachers of whom Paul said "If they do not WORK then neither shall they eat."

They disobeyed God and brougt their abominations with them.
He saved they by the Protypical Model of Baptism and givng the the Spirit Christ to guide them.
He gave them the 10 commandments and The Book of The Covenant of Grace which was Abrahamic.
The people refused to hear God and thought God was silent so they rose up in INSTRUMENTAL IDOLATRY of the Egyptian-etal Idolatry.
The Tables were BROKEN and never restored in the original form.
God gave the The Book of The Law and sentenced them to worship the starry host and sentenced them to Beyond Babylon.
Instrumental Worship went along with sexual abuse and stealing from the poor to satisy the flesh and blood lust.
By lying To God and About God to IMPOSE musical instruments which Christ outlawed for the Ekklesia in the wilderness is to be sripped of all moral authority.
The Synagogue or Church always existed and excluded self-speak, singing, instruments or any noise while they held School of the Word (only)
MOST modern institutional churches have become a Temple (ziggurat) where you must take your MONEY to get a message from God.

NOW ACU, PEPPERDINE, THE NACC AND A CHURCH NEAR YOU WILL PAY RICK ATCHLEY TO RECYCLE THE MOUNT SINAI FALL INTO MUSICAL IDOLATRY OF THE ALWAYS-PAGAN TRINITY.

HEARING "a" spirit giving you the "authority" to become a post-Christian authority for once-Christian colleges works just as well on "doctors of the law" as KoolAid which works faster than instrumental music MAKING the voice of Jeus impossible to hear: especially when you have a Blackaby and Shellly "Better and more powerful Jesus for YOUR culture.

If Rick Atchley is WRONG and has said that the SPIRIT commanded him to sow massive discord, the the Spirit OF Christ in Jeremiah says that Rick Atchley has blasphemed the Holy Spirit OF Christ:
OF is a preposition and ignoring it is proof of strong delusions identified by the same Mount Sinai worship of the Egyptian-etal trinity under Apis the golden calf.
One writer notes: Has God "given unto us all things that pertain to life and godliness?" If he has not, Peter was not telling the truth. If he has, what need is there for further revelation? And yet, if one watches Trinity Broadcasting Network, the Inspiration Channel and similar operations, he cannot avoid noticing how many of the speakers on those programs claim to have a direct revelation from God. They use words somewhat as follows: "The Lord spoke to me" or "The Lord appeared to me in a dream." I wish I could say that only Charismatics or Pentecostals were guilty of deceiving their listeners by pretending to have a direct word from God, but that would not be the case.
        Rich Atchley, the preacher of the Richland Hills Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas, made this completely unscriptural claim:
        "Right there at that spot about 1994 the Holy Spirit said to me in the middle of a sermon,

'that's what you and all preachers like you are doing,
        who haven't for years believed that the worship of God with instruments was wrong.
        But you continue by your silence to let people think it's wrong.
        But you allow the people to be disrupted, and you do so under the plea,
        'Well, we're just maintaining peace.' But that's not peace; that's cowardice.
        I knew then the day would come I'd have to teach this lesson."
Tragically and inexplicably, Rick Atchley is guilty of imitating some of the false prophets in Old Testament times. He was speaking where God has not spoken. He is like the Balaam, the Gentile prophet:

        He was waiting for what more the Lord has to say. He was attempting to convince churches of Christ to fall in with the fleeting fashions of the world (Rom. 12:2). I pray to God almighty that we shall not be deceived by Rick Atchley's imagination.
Rick Atchley had bonded with Max Lucado from college onward: Rick was part of the Rubel Shelly JUBILEE small band of merry men thinking to RESTRUCTURE all churches of Christ into defacto Christian churches.  However, we have reported on Rick Atchley's FROG BOILING process at least from 1997.  Like Rubel (Jubal) Shelly, the pattern was to keep a pitty patty drip of ANTI Church of Christ hate mongering: the plan was to drive people into dissociation (defined in Mein Kampf's SEEKER system) so that like the AZTECS you could burn down all of the houses (congregation) every 52 years and 42 weeks and RELIGHT the fires in the breast of a sacrificial victim and then RUN to the Rebuilt houses (congregations) and relight the FIRES.

Charles Spurgeon could not find a word in the English language to describe a "pastor" who would accept pay form a church with whom he disagreed. To DELIBERATELY take about 16 years to CONDITION HIS church by slow increments would leave Charles Spurgeon gasping for fresh air.

Rick Atchley:
  who haven't for years believed that the worship of God with instruments was wrong.
At Mount Sinai the rise into MUSICAL IDOLATRY was DEMON worship and the nation was carried into captivity and death while they played instruments leaving the children hungering and thirsting for the WORD but the Rick Atchleys of the time were collecting daily tithes facilitated by the MUSICAL DISCORD which with Miriam and the Jacob-cursed and God-abandoned Levites: they were called instrumental SOOTHSAYERS which had the same meaning as INSTRUMENTAL Sorcery or witchcraft.

That's one of the MARKS of a Strong Delusion.  In 2 Corinthians 3 Paul returns to the FALL FROM GRACE at Mount Sinai to show how the Jews, then and now, refused to hear God and demanded that Moses lble their mediator.  He said that the Jews could not HEAR the Word being PREACHED by being READ in the synagogue.  Neither could they read BLACK text on BROWN paper until they were converted or baptized INTO Christ.  At Baptism Christ gives us A holy spirit which is our spirit made holy so that we can read the text

BEGINNING AND ENDING WORSHIP OF THE BABYLON MOTHER OF HARLOTS USING LUSTED AFTER "FRUITS" (SAME AS IN AMOS 8) AS RHETORICIANS, SINGERS, INSTRUMENT PLAYERS AND "GRINDERS" OR "BRIDES" PERFORMING THE HIEROS GAMUS

Furthermore, men with no Role and no Dole who cannot bring themselves to confront the MASCULINE, Rational, Spiritual Word and teach it as it has been taught now see Godliness as a means of financial gain: OCCUPATION only.  However, it is a fact that getting paid for performing with any of your body parts when Jesus paid it all and taught it all is called PROSTITUTION.

        For to offer one's beauty for money to all comers is called prostitution;

        So is it with wisdom. Those who offer it to all comers for money

John speaks of the LOCUSTS which in the literature are the MUSES (Rev 18:22) known as dirty as dirty adultersses.  It would be a rare MARK when males fell into this.  The Locust CAST OUT Christ's elect and holds those with the mark of the beast (a new style of music and drama) captive so they CANNOT revolt against the unleased Apollo (Abaddon, Apollyon).

Instrumental Music in Worship  is a sin without redemption. The singing and harp-playing prostitute in the garden of Eden wholly seduced Eve.  The Word is filled with warnings until Romans 17 when the old Babylon Mother of Harlots uses self-speakers, singers and instrument players: John called them SORCERERS and said they will be cast alive into the lake of fire.  He is Apollo, Abaddon or Apollyon and his musical worship team is the LOCUSTS which for the elect means the MUSES.   We have not liberty to be nice:

RICK ATCHLEY
But you continue by your silence to let people think it's wrong.
        But you allow the people to be disrupted, and you do so under the plea,
        'Well, we're just maintaining peace.' But that's not peace; that's cowardice.
Rick Atchley and band DISRUPTED several congregations because they were AGENTS of ACU, Pepperdine and the NACC.  Without being duped by agents like David Faust none of the churches had any problems with NOT being disrupted by silly boylings whining and plucking whatever needed plucking.

The DISRUPTION was by Rick Atckley walking closely behind Max Lucado (old roomies).  The SIN according to Ricks Christian Church controllers was when what they now call
ANTI-instrumental churches of Christ said NO, you cannot turn OUR church into YOUR venue for Rock and Roll or "holy entertainment."

AFTER THE FALL INTO INSTRUMENTAL IDOLATRY AT MOUNT SINAI, CHRIST ORDAINED THE Qahal, Ekklesia or the Church OF Christ (the Rock) in the wilderness.

The
FALL was because of Instrumental Idolatry for which there was no redemption.
God separated the Instrumental Sectarians to Babylonianism at the NOT-commanded Temple.
The Ekklesia was
        INCLUSIVE of Rest, Reading and Rehearsing the Word (only) of God (only)
        EXCLUSIVE of vocal or instrumental rejoicing including sermonizers

God quarantined the GODLY people to their local areas and WORK prevented the "presumed" mininsters of God from travelling.

SCRIPTURE if filled with the ONE PIECE PATTERN for the Godly people to PROTECT them from the roving SELLERS of speeches, songs, sermons, snake oil and other nostrums.

That  universal PATTERN is to
            SPEAK that which is written for our LEARNING
            The singing and meditation is IN the heart or spirit.

The universal PATTERN is that Jesus died to give us the free water of the Word.

Corrupting the Word is selling learning at retail which is defined by Paul and above as ADULTERY.

People who would SELL their persona and sophistical skills for money would sell body part if the price was right.

See Rick Atchley and Chris Seidman on Instrumental Music Delusion leading you to Babylonianism and NO REDEMPTION.

We have heard that delusion before: We haven't preached against instruments for decades.  Therefore, why are you not objecting to us "infiltrating and diverting YOUR property" and sowing discord when WE have not even LET YOU KNOW that from Genesis to Revelation God says that it is SORCERY or WITCHCRAFT?  Lynn Anderson in Navigating the Winds of Change lies about all of the "instrument passages" and actors-turned-preachers fall for the witchcraft: Lynn uses language derived from Wicca or Sorcery.

Rick Atchley: The era of the progressive Church of Christ is over.
Back in the 80’s you could go to any major city, especially in the South, and you could find a progressive Church of Christ — and if they would preach grace, and if they would put words on a screen, and if they would let divorced people place membership, they would grow.

The generation of Boomers has enough denominational loyalty that they’re going to find the least legalistic

Well, we discipled the children of those progressive churches
        for a whole generation to grow past us Boomers.
        They never heard the sermons we heard.
        They never heard the rationale for a cappella music.
        We sent them to youth rallies and Church of Christ events
        with some of the finest Christian bands in the world.
        We taught them to LEAVE our MOVEMENT

We taught them to LEAVE our MOVEMENT
        We discipled our children to leave our Movement!

[200] We mortals have no cleverness in the eyes of the the gods. Our ancestral traditions, and those which we have held throughout our lives, no argument will overturn, not even if some craftiness should be discovered by the depths of our wits.  Will anyone say that I do not respect old age, [205] being about to dance with my head covered in ivy? No, for the god has made no distinction as to whether it is right for men young or old to dance, but wishes to have common honors from all and to be extolled, setting no one apart.

2Pet. 1:12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things,

2Pet. 1:15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

2Pet. 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
2Pet. 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

For Melampus was the one who taught the Greeks the name of Dionysus and the way of sacrificing to him and the phallic procession; he did not exactly unveil the subject taking all its details into consideration, for the teachers who came after him made a fuller revelation; but it was from him that the Greeks learned to bear the phallus along in honor of Dionysus, and they got their present practice from his teaching. [2] I say, then, that Melampus acquired the prophetic art, being a discerning man, and that, besides many other things which he learned from Egypt, he also taught the Greeks things concerning Dionysus, altering few of them; for I will not say that what is done in Egypt in connection with the god and what is done among the Greeks originated independently: for they would then be of an Hellenic character and not recently introduced. [3] Nor again will I say that the Egyptians took either this or any other custom from the Greeks. But I believe that Melampus learned the worship of Dionysus chiefly from Cadmus of Tyre and those who came with Cadmus from Phoenicia to the land now called Boeotia.

Rick Atchley – Hearing from God pt. 2

I. If you’re not hearing from God, it could be because of …

An arrogant mind (James 1).

A disobedient spirit.

Isaiah 59.

Unaddressed, unconfessed sin disrupts communication from God.
People tend to expect God to give them clarity on areas that aren’t clear when they being disobedient in areas that the Bible makes very clear

Isa 59:15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey.
           And the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

Isa 59:16 And he saw that there was no man,
           and wondered that there was no intercessor:
           therefore his arm brought salvation unto him;
           and his righteousness, it sustained him.
Isa 59:17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate,
           and a helmet of salvation upon his head;
           and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing,
           and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
Isa 59:18 According to their deeds ,
           accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries,
           recompense to his enemies;
           to the islands he will repay recompense.
Isa 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west,
           and his glory from the rising of the sun.
           When the enemy shall come in like a flood,
           the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and
           unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. Isa 59:20
Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted [TURN], that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
The word RETURN or CONVERT is done ONLY at the time and place of baptism in the New Testament.
Isa 59:21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord;
           My spirit that is upon thee,
           and my words which I have put in thy mouth,
           shall not depart out of thy mouth,
           nor out of the mouth of thy seed,
           nor out of the mouth of thy seeds seed,
           saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.
The Word HAS departed when we SPEAK our own words rather than teach "that which is written" meaning Scripture.
And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. Isa 58:12
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him,
not doing thine own ways,
nor finding thine own pleasure,
nor speaking thine own words: Isa 58:13
Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. Isa 58:14

A flippant will.

II. “But there’s more than one voice competing for my attention and obedience…”

III. Other ways to recognize the voice of the Lord:

    The voice of the Lord will cheer my spirit.

      The voice of The Lord never speaks to discourage – only to encourage (not sure about this – many of the prophetic books are full of discouraging words. God’s point was to encourage people to repent, but holding a mirror up to yourself when you’re at your worst can certainly be described as discouraging).

    The voice of the Lord will change my character.

      Learn the difference between the CONVICTING voice of the Lord and the CONDEMNING voice of the enemy.

      God will call us to repent, but He will never attack our worth in doing so.

      If you stood before God today, what expression would be on His face? Most would say disappointment, but is that right?

    The voice of The Lord will challenge my comfort zone.

      The voice of self will opt for comfort and security while those following the voice of The Lord will risk.

      The voice of The Lord never says “chill!”

Rick Atchley – Hearing from God pt. 3

I. How do you handle people who hear from God for you?

 II. How can I tell if a prophecy is from God or not?  Conduct a hearing test:

    Does it line up with the scriptures?

    Does it lift up The Lord Jesus Christ? There’s more than one voice out there seeking your attention – we live in a spiritual society where lots of people are claiming authority.

    Does is hold up the gospel of grace?

    Does it show up in the speaker’s life? The bible never exalts giftedness over character.

    Does it build up the body of Christ? The primary purpose of prophecy is not to reveal mysteries (like on TBN), but to disciple men. It does not tear down – it builds up.

III. If I’m going through an extended period of hearing nothing from God, there are five questions I should ask:

    Am I expecting to hear from God?

      You don’t listen for someone you don’t expect to speak.

    Am I too distracted to hear from God?

      God may have been calling, only the line on your end has been busy.

      Could be we’re so wealthy and have so many toys and we’re so distracted by noise (Internet, tv, etc.) that we don’t hear?

      Is this why people in the third world claim to hear so much more often?

    Am I living in habitual sin?

    Am I wanting to hear God for His purposes or mine?

      Can’t be for our own selves – we must want God Himself.

      Often we want direction from God more than we want connection with God.

    Am I willing to wait for his voice?

      God always speaks, but often not in our time.

      God may wait because we’re not ready to hear what he had to say – maybe you’re not in a place to hear what you need to hear.

      Why did Mary and Martha have to wait on Jesus to heal Lazarus? Waiting was better.

      Are you willing to wait if it means God will get more glory in the end?

      Sometimes God waits to give a word to us so that He can do a work in us.
