Rubel Shelly: The Unfruitful Vineyard (Isa. 5)

Rubel Shelly: It is the final use of "looked for" that removes any remaining mystery about the nature of God's expectation. When he looked for "good grapes" in the vineyard of Israel-Judah-Jerusalem, he was looking for "justice" and "righteousness." Instead of the former, he saw "bloodshed";

Isaiah 5:1 Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard.
My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:

When God "sings" to people it is a MARK that people have gone beyond redemption because they engaged in musical rituals and refused to teach the children that which God composed: if you will SING this song next week the silly people will sit down.

It is not a sign of mental illness to TEST THE SPIRITS. The spirits were always in a hostile battle for the bucks: between the Spirit of Christ which He said is My Word which is also TRUTH, and the "spirits" which come out of OLD wineskins being peddled as NEW. A Christian is filled with "that which is written, the Spirit or the Word of Christ." A disciple SPEAKS that truth "as it has been taught" and the singing and melody are both IN THE HEART. This is important because Jesus said that God only seeks those who can worship in the NEW PLACE of the human spirit. Both ODEING and MELODY speak of real and spiritual warfare: raising up the enemy of the innocent lambs "to cut their throat." Paul POINTS to these "arousal" concepts in order to illustrate true SPEAKING one to another and NOT "making melody with a harp."

For those who CLAIM the task of "working out a New SCRIPTURE" because OUR culture has changed, it is basic even to the Jungles to test it by that which has been written and taught as authority for faith and practice for these 2,000 years.

Isaiah 11 proves that the SEVEN SPIRITS or LIGHTS which would rest on Messiah the BRANCH was not a "little man" who gets in your carnal body in SPEAKS TO YOU AUDIBLY. The seven spirits are ALL spirits OF Divine knowledge. That is why Jesus built a SYNAGOGUE or school of the Bible and NOT a pagan worship center.

Jesus warned that the job of "doctors of the law" is to TAKE AWAY the key to knowledge. Those with the name MUST play the game. Paul insisted that our worship be IN THE SPIRIT sealed and air-tight against sermonic or musical "mediators" because OUTSIDE trying to get in are the DOGS. This is the true meaning of CHARISMATIC.

Peter defined what he would record for OUR MEMORY as first hand and validated by supernatural signs. That was important because anyone who violates his law against PRIVATE INTERPRETATION or FURTHER EXPOUNDING would be a false prophet (or Profit). Those claiming to hear a NEW CULTURE-SENSITIVE Bible for our times MUST claim that he is an apostle-prophet. Never believe it if he cannot raise the dead as some of the NEW TEAM are hoping for.

Isaiah would fall to the Assyrians--called the Tallest Trees in Eden in Ezekiel 31--and the failure was identical in Amos 5-8 to Isaiah 5. There was no real difference between the nations which had been divided by the idolatry of nationhood. God in Amos attributes their failure to the worship like the nations. God had granted this right to them when they "rose up to play" in the musical idolatry of the Egyptian triad. Stephen got into trouble with the temple clergy because he said that what they WERE was a result of being 'turned over to worship the starry host.' This included Saturn in various forms whose Chaldee number is 666.

In ALL of the "music" as "worship" passages God (the Spirit of Christ) their worship as pleasuring themselves was sexual fertility attempts to force or please the "gods" into giving them children, goats and grapes. The FRUIT of such idolatrous worship was that people hungered for the WORD but could not find it: the clergy CHARGED for teaching the WORD but substituted their own words. Jesus identified these clergy as sons of the Devil and the MARK was that "they speak on their own" and they do it to steal from widows and hard working people by the LEGALISTIC demand for the "collection plate" which is the Vineyard's (aka new wineskin) final ACT of worship just after having a music-induced climax with the Spirit.

And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the Lord unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more. Amos 8:2

If you want to GET DRUNK ON THE SPIRIT you deliberately "get drunk on wine" which in the actual resources meant to GET PIPED DOWN OR fluted down with WINE. You cannot traffick with the new wine in a new wineskin WITHOUT music in one form or another. In the same way, the only reason to allow Grape juice as a primary food product to FERMENT is for the purpose of GETTING DRUNK.

Good grapes went into things like preserved fruit of the vine. Sure, they could preserve grape juice as a FOOD PRODUCT. Fermenting wine runs its course to turn into vinegar or a poison. Therefore, new wine was put into purified vessels to EXCLUDE fermentation. If you were going on a trip you put any wine in a new wineskin or one which had been fumigated. The goal is to prevent a restart of ferment which would burst the skin. No, not even a NEW wineskin could withstand Boyles Law of expansion which will burst a steel banded cask much more a bloated billy goat skin. A bottle of still fermenting wine can have the pressure of a tire truck!

All such FEASTING were religious in nature. Isaiah issues the same warning as Amos 5, 6 and 8. They were WORSHIPPING just as God sentenced them to do at Mount Sinai when they rose up to PLAY. This was with wine, women, song and music. In Amos these are religious feasts and were done IN THE TEMPLE: songs in the temple would be silenced.

Bloodshed actually occurs when the NEW STYLE worship take over and people I know seemed to have died in self defense. In one church they prayed for the old reluctant people to die so "we can have our turn."

Rubel Shelly: in place of the latter, the people who would not hear him caused him to have to hear "cries of distress." It is a powerful wordplay in Hebrew that does not come through in English -- something equivalent to "I looked for mercy, and all I saw was murder; for fair play, only to hear howls about foul play."

The story of Cain--meaning A MUSICAL NOTE or MARK--is the result of polygamy and COLLECTING all of the "animals" into one pen so that he could PEDDLE the people their own God-given animals.

A Cry is:

Caaq (h6817) tsaw-ak'; a prim. root; to shriek; (by impl.) to proclaim (an assembly): - * at all, call together, cry (out), gather (selves) (together).

Jesus promised to be in the MIDST of the twos and threes who are ELECTED by the INVITATION to "come learn of me."

And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brothers blood crieth unto me from the ground. Ge.4:10

Paul tells us that Eve was wholly seduced as a new bride is tampered with before wedding consumation. It was not uncommon that an authority figure GOT FIRST SHOT at the Bride. As a result we can grasp (if we can grasp) that Cain was OF that evil one. Lucifer is said to have arrived in the garden of Eden with wind, string and percussion instruments as part of his breastplate or means of enchantment.

One of the children of Cain through Lamech's family was Jubal from which we get JUBILEE or blowing the horn. Singing and tooting was OUTLAWED in the synagogue or church in the wilderness (Hebrew Qahal) when the people were to ASSEMBLED. They never assembled or "churched" except for needed instruction. That is the meaning of the EKKLESIA or SYNAGOGUE of Christ which is a school of the Bible and NOT a pagan worship center.

And his brothers name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. Genesis 4:21

The word HANDLE means that he did it WITHOUT AUTHORITY from God just as father Cain sacrificed as an agriculturist which is not so much a farming word as a FERTILITY RITUAL word.

Topheth (h8611) to'-feth; from the base of 8608; a smiting, i. e. (fig.) contempt: - tabret.

Topheth (h8612) to'-feth; the same as 8611; Topheth, a place near Jerus.: - Tophet, Topheth.

Taphaph (h8608) taw-faf'; a prim. root; to drum, i. e. play (as) on the tambourine: - taber, play with timbrels.

The big lie is that TITHING and the Law of Giving is still legalistically in effect: the old PATTERNISM survives in the new PARADIGMISM. When people on the DOLE from which Jesus fired the SCRIBAS or doctors of the Law ride on the backs of widows and hard working, honest people the Amos Isaiah patternism is still in effect:

Rubel Shelly: The two terms [justice and righteousness] together concern Yahweh's command to Israel, that Israel should be a community that practices generative,
.........positive social relationships
......... without abuse or exploitation.
......... That command and expectation of Yahweh,
however, are profoundly disappointed by the course of Israel's life.[1]

Just about everything written about assemblies with rhetoricians and musicians speak of all kinds of ABUSE. Assuredly those who use MUSIC or PERFORMANCE as an attractant are exploiting people. The Babylonian Encomiast or Praise Leader was an expert in exploitation and abuse. The COMMUNITY or COMMUNE believed that the people should WORK for the institution and HIRE professional rhetoricians, sophists, singers, musicians, and prostitutes all of whom performed as sorcerers and were therefore PARASITES. You cannot be a LOCATED MISSIONARY without denying social justice and without abusing and exploiting hard working honest people.

"Nay, rather, to speak out more truly, the augurs, the dream interpreters, the soothsayers, the prophets, and the priestlings, ever vain, have devised these fables;

for they, fearing that their own arts be brought to nought,
and that they may extort but scanty contributions from the devotees, now few and infrequent,
whenever they have found you to be willing
........ that their craft should come into disrepute,
........ cry aloud, the Gods are neglected,
........ and in the temples there is now a very thin attendance.

For ceremonies are exposed to derision,
........and the time-honoured rites of institutions once sacred
........ ........have sunk before the superstitions of new religions.

And men--a senseless race--being unable, from their inborn blindness, to see even that which is placed in open light,

dare to assert in their frenzy what you in your sane mind do not blush to believes." (Arnobius, Against the Heathen, Ante-Nicene Fathers, VI, p. 418).

The CAUSE was that the false preachers or prophets even took tithes of wages which was NEVER lawful. If not lawful then it was unlawful, a crime and a sin.

Rubel Shelly: Leaving no doubt whatever about the nature of the injustice and unrighteousness that pervaded the people, their sins are chronicled in a list that should sound frighteningly familiar. I will supply simple headings in the text to move the flow of the reading along.

Economic acts allowing a few to prosper at the expense of the many . . .

The following could define multi million dollar TEMPLES in which thousands of people are called in to worship or have worship performed for them. It is a fact that Solomon spent more time building HOUSES for pagan worship than for Jehovah. The concept of CLERG allows, in the words of John Calvin, "The lazy asses to be fed while the ploughing oxen starve." Life has not changed.

Rubel Shelly:

8 Woe to you who add house to house
and join field to field
till no space is left
and you live alone in the land.

Isn't the church in Nashville involved with adding a church on every corner of an intersection to STEAL LAMBS?

9 The LORD Almighty has declared in my hearing:

"Surely the great houses will become desolate,
the fine mansions left without occupants.

10 A ten-acre vineyard will produce only a bath of wine,
a homer of seed only an ephah of grain."

Self-absorbed, self-indulgent lifestyles . . .

11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning
to run after their drinks,
who stay up late at night
till they are inflamed with wine.

12 They have harps and lyres at their banquets,
tambourines and flutes and wine,
but they have no regard for the deeds of the LORD ,
no respect for the work of his hands.

These self-indulgent lifestyles in the HOUSES were religious festivals. As Rubel would say if we cannot baptize the ideas of the world and PAINT them Christian then "it would be a sin" not to be all things to all people.

I hate, I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies. Am.5:21

See how Rubel Shelly's co-minister John Mark Hicks wants to turn the Lord's Supper into a festival where God eats and drinks and we have a JUBILEE.

See how God will USE MUSIC to drive the evil people into captivity and death (Assyria, Egypt, Jerusalem or Sodom) into hell represented by their sacrificing children to Molech:

Must ye always rejoice, and go into my holy places continually, as they that keep a feast? and must ye go with a pipe, as those that rejoice into the mountain of the Lord, to the God of Israel Isaiah 30:29 LXX

"The ritual observances at the Hebrew and at a Canaanite sanctuary were so similar that to the mass of the people Jehovah worship and Baal worship were not separated by any well-marked line...

A sacrifice was a public ceremony of a township or clan... Then the crowds streamed into the sanctuary from all sides, dressed in their gayest attire, marching joyfully to the sound of music, and bearing with them not only the victims appointed for sacrifice, but store of bread and wine set forth the feast... Universal hilarity prevailed." (Gurney, O.R., Some Aspects of Hittite Religion, p. 37, Oxford University Press, 1977)

"Many of the Psalms are expressive of the parade dance, or dance procession, in a way which show it to have been the characteristic form of the festival (Psalms 30:12, 87:7, 149:3, 150:4; Is. 30:29) and that this was where many of the Psalms were used." ( W. O. E. Osterley, The Sacred Dance (Cambridge: N. P., 1923), p. 94)

In several passages, MUSIC is the mark that people WILL NOT listen to the Words of God. Because Jesus set the example of speaking only what the "father" spoke to him and Paul insisted that elders "teach that which has been taught" we can simply read this 'sermon' and understand that spiritual FOOD is being with held.

and the Lord shall make his glorious voice to be heard and the wrath of his arm, to make a display with wrath and anger and devouring flame: he shall lighten terribly, and his wrath shall be as water and violent hail. Isaiah 30:30 LXX

For by the voice of the Lord the Assyrians shall be overcome, even by the stroke where with he shall smite them. Isaiah 30:31 LXX

And it shall happen to him from every side, that they from whom their hope of assistance was, in which he trusted, themselves shall war against him in turn with drums and with harp. Isaiah 30:32 LXX

And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the Lord shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps:and in battles of shaking will he fight with it. Isaiah 30:32KJV

God uses that which people LUST AFTER to destroy them. In the Dead Sea Scrolls a Psalm like Psalm 41 is translated to define the idea that Judas will not triumph over Jesus. They attacked Jesus as Beliar, Beelzebub or Satan using instrumental music to panic Him or "melt His heart." In the end, the military weapons will be turned on those who refused to trust in God's Word.

For thou shalt be required before thy time: has it been prepared for thee also to reign? nay, God has prepared for thee a deep trench, wood piled fire and much wood: the wrath of the Lord shall be as a trench kindled with sulphur. Isaiah 30:33 LXX

The result in Amos was that people were SEEKERS: they prowled around hungering and thirsting for the WORD of God but simply could not find it. As a result of being Bibllical illiterate, they went into captivity and death.

Rubel Shelly: 13 Therefore my people will go into exile
for lack of understanding;
their men of rank will die of hunger
and their masses will be parched with thirst.

It is clear that the "new style worship" with literal or virtual "musical instruments" follow this PATTERNISM. This is self evident: if you listen to Rubel and the praise team you are NOT listening to the Word "as it has been taught." And the ritual performances are intended to keep the undiluted Word of God out of your minds.

The result of "musical worship rituals" then and now is that as promised at Mount Sinai:

Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. Is.5:13

Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. Is.5:14

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: Amos 8:11

And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. Amos 8:12

In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. Amos 8:13

Here is some of the message of Isaiah 5 being ignored.

There is no music in the Bible as worship. When God "sings" to the people He does not BEGIN in a pleasant way. On the contrary, true "singing" means to PRAISE God by going out as evangelists and preach: you simply CANNOT do worship in houses and by rituals of human invention because God only seeks us in OUR OWN SPIRIT where no singer, musician or preacher could dare to go in the temple as carnal type. Notice that this is similar to the "singing" which are really SPEAKING passages in Romans 15, Ephesiand 5 and Colossians 3:

O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name:
make known his deeds among the people. Psalm 105:1

Sing to the LORD, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world. Isaiah 12:5

Isa 5:2 And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

The Promise Keeper's mantra is to BREAK DOWN THE WALLS. What this means is that the BEAST PEOPLE want the lambs of God to help break down the walls so they can get into the VINEYARD and eat up your grapes or steal your inheritance.

(from 2485) to play (the flute): - begin (* men began), defile, * break, defile, * eat (as common things), * first, * gather the grape thereof, * take inheritance, pipe, player on instruments, pollute, (cast as) profane (self), prostitute, slay (slain), sorrow, stain, wound.

This is much like the praise word from which we get the word LUCIFER.

And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. Isa 58:11

And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. Is.58:12

The sabbath is not SATURDAY WORSHIP. The word means REST.

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath,
........ from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight,
........ the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him,
........ not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure,
........ nor speaking thine own words: Isa 58:13

Isa 5:3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.

Isa 5:4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?

When Saul "prophesied" in the musical or charismatic sense while David played the harp, we are not to "go thou and do likewise." God was using music to bring on an evil spirit by His permissive will. In the same way when people lust to BREAK DOWN THE WALLS to, for instance, "provide a venue for Rock and Roll," THEY are not breaking down the walls: God is breaking them down so that the STRONG DELUDERS can come in and musically TAKE YOUR INHERITANCE.

Isa 5:5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

God had already condemned the people with Zemar or melody word which was to prune the vine. Look at Mike Cope and the Promise Keeper's Theme of "breaking down the walls." God built the walls to keep the BEAST PEOPLE outside. By breaking down the walls the church "leaders" intentionally turn the wolves loose on their flock. This is because UNITY is more important than TRUTH.

You cannot believe how much spiritual abuse and even outright "infiltrating and diverting" of churches comes by making fun of the concept of a Restoration Movement. They forget that this was God's theme and that John Calvin and others began a RESTORATION MOVEMENT which went beyond the REFORMATION movement.

Before you can again be a Restoration Movement church you have to "plug the leaks" by rebuilding the walls to keep the market place out of the "temple" on the "Sabbath."

Turn [return to the starting point] us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Psalm 80:7

Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. Psalm 80:8

Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land. Psalm 80:9

The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars. Psalm 80:10

She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river. Psalm 80:11

Why hast thou then broken down her walls, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her? Psalm 80:12

The boar (spelled "bore") out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it. Psalm 80:13

Breaking down walls is never used in a positive sense:

Parac (h6555) paw-rats'; a prim. root; to break out (in many applications, direct and indirect, lit. and fig.): - abroad, (make a) breach, break (away, down, -er, forth, in, up), burst out come (spread) abroad, compel, disperse, grow, increase, open, press, scatter, urge.

Isaiah 5 attributes the problem to religious festivals with wine and instrumental music as in Amos 5, 6 and 8.

A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring. Proverbs 25:26

It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory. Proverbs 25:27

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. Proverbs 25:28

Amos 5, 6 and 8 and Isaiah 5 connects broken walls of morality, wineskins and musical worship. The people were abused and went into captivity because they lacked knowledge. Here is one of the theatrical musicians (barbarians) playing the barbados reclining on a couch which often was made with inlaid ivory idols.

They will intimate with a straight face and an outstretched hand that churches of Christ INVENTED the evil of NOT using machines to worship a SPIRIT God Whom Jesus insisted can ONLY be worshipped in the new PLACE of the human spirit. They will let you hunger and thirst for the TRUTH that the Bible from Genesis to Revelation implicates "music" and "instruments" with Satan, prostitues and slaughtering tens of thousands of innocent animals which momentarily satisfies them because they are MOCKING God Who TURNED THEM OVER to worship that way to destroy them. They will make you believe that NO ONE in history rejected instruments when the evidence is that about 100% of non Catholic worship repudiated instrumenents or machines as IDOLS or as Martin Luther would say Marks of Baal.

NOT playing instruments does not--as Shelly makes you believe--make you racists. PHARISAIC has NO OTHER MEANING than professional preachers changing the Words of God so they can peddle their own SCRIBAL stufff. Pharisee has no other meaning other than to PREACH or PRAY or SING as a mediator to, in Shelly's words, "bring the worshipers into the presence of God." Pharisee has no other meaning than to sell the FREE water of the Word and ACTING (hypocrites) in order to steal the houses or church houses of widows. Only a Pharisee would insist that widows and honest workers PAY HIM to preach that the Bible is no longer worth preaching. So what do you call people who SELL you or make you pay them for MAKING BUGGY WHIPS.

Undoubtedly one of the oldest, most legalistic, most superstitious SCAM is that music MEDIATES between man and God. The priest, prophet and singers were almost always emotionally or sexually abnormal and this virtual buffoonery was seen as proof that one was inspired. How much more insane do you have to be to pretend to do what Christ the Holy Spirit was not able to do in the Word which Paul insisted of the elders "he must teach the Word as it has been taught." The synagogue or church put the focus on READING the Word. The overseer in the Synagogue watched as a student read the passage to make sure that HE DID NOT CHANGE A JOT OR TITTLE. Only if you obey Paul's command to Timothy to "give attendance to the public reading of the word" are you NOT a pharisee (preacher), Scribe (book or sermon writer) or hypocrite (theatrical performer.) The words insanir, m bacchari, refer to the appearance of the ancient seers when under the influence of the deity. Of the Bacchus worship which the Jews tried to force upon Jesus as a "mark" to identify Him as their hoped-for god of wine and war, and those alluded to by Paul to the Ephesians (Chapter 5) when he demanded the sober use of the Word of God as the preaching material while the "singing and melody" remain in the heart, Livy wrote of a continual warfare to put down this "marking" religion even in his day:

See that CHARISMATIC as religionism is universally associated with creating "spiritual anxiety through religious rituals" in contrast to Jesus Who died to give us REST. Music had this purpose in religionism which was sexual or homosexual.

Paul used this word JUST BEFORE he directly commanded that we SPEAK the Words of God in Christ. We are to leave the MELODY in the heart and NOT pleasure ourselves because that would be ANTI-CHRIST like.

Here we find the meaning of Noah's intoxication. His sin was not that of natural inebriety. There are other forms of intoxication than the one produced by the excessive use of wine. We often indicate certain states of mind by the term intoxication.

We say of an enthusiast that he is intoxicated with an undue zeal for the cause he is advocating. The wordly mind is often intoxicated with the success which attends its efforts and achievements.

The Bible frequently speaks of drunkenness to denote a state of spiritual pride. Ariel is said by the prophet Isaiah to be drunk. He says: "They are drunken but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink." Again he says: "The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden down." So we come to see that the story of Noah's drunkenness, considered spiritually,

is the description of the state into which the Ancient Church fell when it began to pervert and falsify the truths that were revealed to it. The people of that Church became sottish, intoxicated with the passion for mere truth separate from the life it taught, they laid in a state of spiritual stupor. This is what is meant by Noah being drunken with the wine of his vineyard.

Gregory Nazianzen. Oration XXXIX

I. Again My Jesus, and again a mystery; not deceitful nor disorderly, nor belonging to Greek error or drunkenness (for so I call their solemnities, and so I think will every man of sound sense); but a mystery lofty and divine, and allied to the Glory above. When Paul said "Don't get drunk with wine" the Greek resources most often speak of "getting PIPED or FLUTED down with wine." That is, if they can get you charismatic with MUSIC then you will drink more wine and LEAVE YOUR OFFERING with the flute-girl who was always a prostitute or a Sodomite.

Nor of the hermaphrodite god, nor a chorus of the drunken and enervated host; nor of the folly of the Thebans which honours him; nor the thunderbolt of Semele which they adore.

Nor is it the harlot mysteries of Aphrodite, who, as they themselves admit, was basely born and basely honoured; nor have we here Phalli and Ithyphalli, shameful both in form and action; nor Taurian massacres of strangers nor blood of Laconian youths shed upon the altars, as they scourged themselves with the whips; and in this case alone use their courage badly, who honour a goddess, and her a virgin.

For these same people both honour effeminacy, and worship boldness.

V. And where will you place the butchery of Pelops, which feasted hungry gods, that bitter and inhuman hospitality? Where the horrible and dark spectres of Hecate, and the underground puerilities and sorceries of Trophonius, or the babblings of the Dodonaean Oak, or the trickeries of the Delphian tripod, or the prophetic draught of Castalia, which could prophesy anything, except their own being brought to silence?

See John Mark Hicks on the Lord's Supper as a sacrificial feast with "god" incuding jubilating. This of course defines the orgy.

Nor is it the sacrificial art of Magi, and their entrail forebodings, nor the Chaldaean astronomy and horoscopes, comparing our lives with the movements of the heavenly bodies, which cannot know even what they are themselves, or shall be.

Nor are these Thracian orgies, from which the word Worship (Threskia) is said to be derived; nor rites and mysteries of Orpheus,

whom the Greeks admired so much for his wisdom that they devised for him a lyre which draws all things by its music.

Nor the tortures of Mithras which it is just that those who can endure to be initiated into such things should suffer; nor the manglings of Osiris, another calamity honoured by the Egyptians; nor the ill-fortunes of Isis and the goats more venerable than the Mendesians, and the stall of Apis, the calf that luxuriated in the folly of the Memphites, nor all those honours with which they outrage the Nile, while themselves proclaiming it in song to be the Giver of fruits and corn, and the measurer of happiness by its cubits.

Only then can you fill up with the SPIRIT which Jesus defined as MY WORDS. Then, you can soberly TEACH ONE ANOTHER. The intoxication Shelly is actively promoting was defined by Paul as madness. Only people permanently or momentarily driven into a perverted, insane condition could hallucinate and speak gibberish. Then, being a cunning TRAFFICKER, he or she actually SOLD their gibberish (sermons) for the last widow's mite.

Again, there is no exception to the rule that these were prostitutes and sodomites. It has been noted that no male would get up and recite a song and play an instrument at the same time unless they were DRUNK or homosexuals looking for a FREE WILL CONTRIBUTOR.

"Singing served as a means of inducing ecstatic prophecy (speaking in tongues).

Thus the essential relationship between music and prophecy can be clearly seen.

This relationship also explains why the expression for "making music" and "prophesying" was often identical in the ancient tongues. origen contra celsum 8.67.

The Hebrew word Naba signifies not only "to prophesy" but also "to make music." (Quasten, Johannes, Music and Worship in Pagan and Christian Antiquity, p. 39)

Who is this god of NEW WINESKINS containing WINE as the PATTERN to replace Lord Jesus Christ who never made nor consumed intoxicants?

"Dionysus is the wine-god, and thus should be a pleasant fellow, a benefactor. But wine has both positive and negative aspects. It makes people drunk, causes them to behave in strange ways. The Greeks were well aware of the dual natures of wine, mirrored by the dual nature of its god.... He betrays a dual nature: being bright, joyous, and vital for life,

while also having a side that is dark, mysterious and deadly.

"The adored wife of the fallen Hector, is taken as a concubine by the authentes, who can command her domestic and sexual services. The word also occurs in a homosexual sense in a speech by Theseus, king of Athens, where love of young boys was considered a virtue rather than a vice." "dionysus's worship is thus established by the simple means of killing the opposition. It has been suggested that every tragic hero who suffers and dies on stage at the Dionysia, the great dramatic festival at Athens (of the South?), is in fact dionysus himself, being killed."

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority (authenteo) over the man, but to be in silence.1Ti.2:12

All "non-sedentary" or silent participation by women exercises the authority condemned by Paul. This sexual authority with the Catholic A Cappella or castrated "musical worship" solved the problem of a male priesthood but with a homosexual, feminine style of worship called "MUSIC."

In every Greek city the god Dionysus (New wineskin god) was worshipped by fraternities and sororities and also by mixed communities. Dionysus was a god of fruitfulness and vegetation but especially of wine. The Dionysiac festivals provided an opportunity for stepping outside of the daily routine. The festivals included not only drinking wine and engaging in sexual activity but also participating in such significant features of Greek civilization as choral singing and mimes. Isaiah 5: 12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands.

I hate, I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies. Am.5:21

Of the 'unity in diversity' in Corinth as the new PATTERNISM for the church, Paul actually repeated Amos:

"Your assemblies do more harm than good" 1 Cor 11:17 Paul

God always repudiated the WINESKINS image as related to homosexuality:

The Words of Jesus: For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. Hab 2:14

The Warning to the WineSkinners: Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors, pouring it from the wineskin till they are drunk, so that he can gaze on their naked bodies. Hab 2:15

You will be filled with shame instead of glory. Now it is your turn! Drink and be exposed ! The cup from the Lord's right hand is coming around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory. Hab 2:16

A second angel followed and said, "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great, which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries." Rev 14:8

Jesus also makes the "marrying and giving in marriage" parable to complete the circle: the wedding festival (always with music) prevented the wedding party from hearing the approach of danger. The

The pipe was used at the banquet of the Hebrews (Isa. 5:12), and their bridal processions (The Mishna, Baba metsia, 6:1), and accompanied the simpler religious services (I Sa. 10:5). It was customary for even the poorest Israelite, at the death of his wife, to provide at least pipers and one woman to make lamentations. (The Book of Life, Historical Digest, p. 258).

It is perhaps for many paganistic reasons that the trumpet was to warn the Israelites to bow down and shut up during the slaying and burning of animals as their lives departed to prevent the worshipper from dying. This is the original Babylon king/queen who will rise again as the Babylon Harlot religion and again her musicians and instruments will go into hell with her (Rev. 18)

The days are coming," declares the Sovereign LORD, "when I will send a famine through the land--not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. Amos 8:11

DSS: And they withhold from the thirst the drink of Knowledge, (Amos 5, 6, 8, Isa 5) and assuage their thirst with vinegar, that they may gaze on their straying,

on their folly concerning their feast-days (Jubilee, Feast of Tabernacles) on their fall into their snares.

When people speak of USING a Worship Team you can betcha that they are performing as spiritual fornicators. You cannot worship or GIVE HEED to Jesus and the performing preacher or charismatic (meaning perverted) singers at the same time.

Isaiah 5: 14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

Therefore Sheol has enlarged its throat and opened its mouth without measure; And Jerusalem's splendor, her multitude, her din of revelry, and the jubilant within her, descend into it" (Isa 5:14 NASB).

Isaiah 14 uses the king of Babylon as Lucifer-personified or indwelled by Satan just as the Devil entered Judas when Jesus fed him the SOP which has a meaning similar to psallo or melody.

The cedars of Lebanon were consumed for building HOUSES, LANCES and MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS. When the people in control--mostly Kenites or Canaanites--went into captivity even the earth and fir trees shouted for joy. Think of it! These religionists caused the very creation to suffer!

The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing. Isa 14:7

Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us. Isa 14:8

The fellers were themselves consumed with exploiting the people (as in Amos) for WORSHIP which was for pleasuring themselves at the expense of the poor and un-trained:

Paul defined the Christian Synagogue or school of the Bible. Before you can SPEAK "that which is written" with one mind and one mouth they had to follow Jesus and NOT pleasure themselves:

For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. Rom 15:3

Finally, God shows the new wine model failed because they saw the "wine" as a symbol of "exhilaration" or charismatic feelings from their worship. Like all pagans, the use of drugs and music to enhance the feeling took absolutely no heart adjustment.

However, a heart adjustment is required if you are going to replace a weekly "exhalting ceremony" with judgment and right living.

You remember that Amos 5, 6 and 8 as well as Isaiah 5 shows that when the leaders got involved with "ritual" and wine, women and music the people hungered and thirsted for the WORD but they could not find it. This may because of the Locusts. Of the tettix

"They were thought to sing continually without food or drink."

A similar word like all MUSIC or arts and crafts of the MUSES is related to Apollo or Abaddon or Apollyon:

Melpô, celebrate with song and dance, melpontes hekaergon Il.l.c.; Phoibon (Apollo): Phoibos (-os, -ou, -ôi, -on, -e) bright one epith. of Apollo. The power point of Apollo is fear. Many musical terms such as musica, magica, cantus speak of creating panic or frenzy with music. sing to the lyre or harp, kai kitharize, dance and sing, as a chorus, dance a war-dance in honour of Ares, by a bold metaph. for to fight on foot.

This urge for "play" or drama is the evidence of lostness which can be somewhat relieved by pretending a form of worship to replace the never-realized goals of a few minor gods:

"It is symptomatic of structures that have lost their elasticity, becoming too rigid to accommodate further development,

to intensify the semantics of self-reference as a sort of final act of self-reassurance.

The patterns of self-reference by drama to drama as we see them in The Bacchae of Euripides reflect a crisis in the very genre of tragedy, in the context of drastic changes in Athenian society toward the end of the fifth century; the prospect is one of abrupt confrontation and loss." -- Nagy, Pindar's Homer p. 388

Isaiah 5: 16 But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

Only when the "religious festivals" are silenced is it possible for the lambs to live like lambs and not like a flock of vultures

Isaiah knows that only God can lift up His own Holy name. You had better be a HEAVE LIFTER if you plan to lift up the Lord:

The Lord is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness. Is 33:5

And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure. Is 33:6

Now will I rise, saith the Lord; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself. Isa 33:10

God doesn't want to be "lifted up" because such presumption fails to recognize that He is lifted up. What He wants us to do is to lift Him up in wisdom, knowledge, stability with the power to bring others to salvation in His Name. Here are the seven spirits which would rest upon Jesus:

AND there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: Isa 11:1

And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; Isa 11: 2

And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: Isa 11: 3

But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. Isa 11: 4

Isaiah 5:17 Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.

Isa 5:18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope

As we noted, Dr. Shelly will advise Woodmont that not using instruments is somehow connected with mistreading kids.

Therefore, clean didn't mean "freshly washed" but innocent, blameless. For instance in lifting up holy hands the emphasis is not lifting hands but holy hands. That is still a command.

Aren't we lucky that Jesus clarified the parable and repudiated this tradition even as He repudiated the children playing the musical worship games of Dionysus and "put the musical mourning team out 'more or less violently'."

Oh. Remember, the magic above? You didn't notice that Jesus did not repudiate them for washing their hands after every sneeze. Notice that Jesus was condemning the FOR HIRE meaning hirelings:

A hupokritês [hupokrinomai] an interpreter or expounder, one who plays a part on the stage, a player, actor, metaphor a pretender, dissembler, hypocrite, Often appears with the Pharisaios, a Pharisee, Separatist (from pharash, to distinguish), one of a sect who separated themselves from other Jews as affecting superior holiness. Peter outlawed private interpretation which is FURTHER EXPOUNDING.

THEN came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, (preachers, book writers) which came from Jerusalem. Mark 7:1

And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault. Mark 7: 2

Jesus said that it was the doctors of the law who took away the key to knowledge. These were pharisee specialists:

Scriba A doctor of the Jewish law, one whose duty it was to guard and expound the sacred text

It is possible to be a Pharisee, Scribe or of the SECTARIAN hypocrites in the condemned sense if you are a PROFESSIONAL RELIGIONISTS.

ZOE is another name for LUCIFER who was the king-queen of Tyre and named the "singing and harp-playing prostitute." She is the end time holy whore who LIGHTS THE FIRE:

Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane (polluted) out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Ezekiel 28:16

Here is the "pattern" defined by Ezekiel and Isaiah compared to that of Jesus. That which BLINDED Israel was the musical worship of idols so that the people hungered and thirsted for the Word but could never find it because the Doctors of the Law had stolen the key to knowledge as the expression of the Spirit of Christ.

Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. Isaiah 6:10

Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, Isaiah 6:11

And the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land. Isaiah 6:12

But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof. Isaiah 6:13

"The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble," - Revelation 18:12.
