Hulda, Huldah - Prophetess - Librarian?

Hulda, Huldah - Prophetess - Librarian? Searchers for a stand up, speak out role for women may have found a librarian rather than a revealer of the Word of God.  A "real" female prophetess such as Miriam (meaning bitter waters or in rebellion) is not pretty. I have looked at the Latin version to see why Al Maxey insists that Miriam is the example of a female, musical worship minister with instruments.

The Corinthian women: speaking in tongue

See more background to prophesying or speaking in tongues at Corinth

There are TWO THREADS running from Genesis to Revelation. The true writing prophets condemned the King-Clergy Elite as robbers and parasites.  They repudiate the modern 'proof texts' as the message of the Spirit of Christ.  A prophet or prophetess otherwise is a wife of a prophet or a soothsayer.  The mother of harlots (Rev 17) uses "lusted after fruits" as rhetoricians, singers and instrment players whom John called SORCERERS who had deceived the whole world (Rev 18).  No surprise since Lucifer (Zoe) was the singing and harp playing prostitute in the garden of Eden.

Because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai God had turned the "Elite" Levites which has a darker history in Dionysus worship in Egypt, to bear the burden of sacrifices. These sacrifices were imposed. Later, when the elders fired God and demanded a king like the nations God knew that they wanted to worship like the nations.  He gave them kings in His anger and took them away in His anger. Through Samuel He warned that the kings would enslave them and take their property and children. Stephen says that:

God promised David a tent or tabernacle (at a pagan high place)
But, Solomon built God a house
But, God does not dwell in houses built by human hands or by the works of human hands.
While they used the term "Lord" the fact that God had abandoned them to Sabazianism or worship of the astrial deities, David heard his own version through Gad who was a stargazer.  The prophets in and around the Temple were charismatic opportunists looking for food. Huldah's value was that she may have been the only one with access to the priestly garments and and the scrolls with which most kings knew nothing.  It is very possible that she was:

2 Chronicles 29 is used as the PATTERN for saying that "God commands instrumental praise" in a Church of Christ. However, just before that the king had abandoned Jerusalem. This was a violation of the direct command that the sacrificial system be quarantined behind the city gates and exposed to public view.

There are only WRITING Prophets by the Spirit OF Christ and the prophecies made more certain by Jesus whom God made to be both Lord and Christ and Word and Grace. Peter said that these prophecies affirmed by Jesus are not to be private interpreted or further expounded.

There is nothing in the God-abandoned Monarchy which is a PATTERN for A Church of Christ. Rather, the Monarchy is a pattern of God abandoned primarily the Jacob-cursed and God-abonded tribe of Levi to "worship the starry host" because of musical idolatry of the always-pagan trinity at Mount Sinai.

Both Miriam and the Star and Fire worshiping Levites were called soothsayers or sorcerers: John agreed in Revelation 18.

Exodus 15:[20] sumpsit ergo Maria prophetis soror Aaron tympanum in manu egressaeque sunt omnes mulieres post eam cum tympanis et choris

God will afflict Miriam with leprosy when she claims to speak for God.  The first meaning of prophet in the PAGAN sense meant a charismatic, musical performer.  All dramatic performance is INTERPRETATION which is, according to Paul, just speaking in tongues.

Revelation 18.24 et in ea sanguis prophetarum et sanctorum inventus est et omnium qui interfecti sunt in terra

Moses' father-in-law was one (also called a Kenite), and the Kenites are probably also Ishmael-related (as were the dutiful Rechabites). They gave gifts of gold and flocks to Solomon and Jehoshaphat (2 Chr 9.14; 17.11).

The Midianites were to prove a troublesome people to Israel, and God often used them purposely to punish the Israelites, who were forced at times to become cave-dwellers (Troglodytes) like the Kenites.

Judges 6:1-2,6a  The people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD gave them into the hand of Mid'ian seven years. 2 And the hand of Mid'ian prevailed over Israel; and because of Mid'ian the people of Israel made for themselves the dens which are in the mountains, and the caves and the strongholds….6 And Israel was brought very low because of Mid'ian; (RSV)

PHRASE: Aegyptius, propheta primarius
1.  Aegyptius,
2.  Prophetai
3.  Primarius I. one of the first, of the first rank, chief, principal, excellent, remarkable,
primarius parasitus,
Plaut 2.1.73   PERIPLECOMENUS  You are a simpleton. For, if you lay anything out on a bad wife and upon an enemy, that is an expense; that which is laid out on a deserving guest and a friend is gain; as that, which is expended upon sacred rites, is a profit to the wise man. By the blessing of the Gods, I have enough, with which to receive you with hospitality in my house. Eat, drink, indulge your tastes with me, and surfeit yourself with enjoyments; my house is at your service, myself likewise do I wish to be at your service. For, through the blessing of the Gods, I may say that, by reason of my wealth, I could have married a dowered wife of the best family; but I don't choose to introduce an everlasting female barker at me into my house.
Părăsītus , i, m., = parasitos, lit. one who eats with another; hence, I. In gen., a guest (pure Lat. conviva): parasiti Jovis, the gods, Hence, parasitus Phoebi, a PLAYER. actor, II. In partic., in a bad sense, one who, by flattery and buffoonery, manages to live at another's expense, a sponger, toad-eater, parasite

Remember the CODE Diotrephes: Name means begotten or BELOVED of Jove who is the "old man" who thrusts in the reaping hook (meaning a musical instrument) about now.

Notes from 2 Maccabees defining the Abomination of Desolation
The tensions which led to the Jewish revolt were exacerbated when the Jewish high priest, a Hellenist himself, offered a sacrifice to Heracles (Hercules) who was a Greek symbol of homosexuality.
But of the Jewish prophets once to PROVE that Miriam was a propheteSS and not a PROPHET.

--Of the Jewish prophets, Vulg. Luc. 1, 70.

Luke 1:70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
Luke 1:71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
Luke 1:72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy convenant;
Luke 1:73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

God had sentenced the Israelites to "beyond Babylon" meaning "no returned" because of their idolatry at Mount Sinai. When the elders fired God and demanded the First Senior Pastor it was so they could KILL MORE GENTILES. God knew that they  wanted to WORSHIP like the nations or GENTILES. Therefore, the Monarchy was an Egyptian-Canaanite-Babylonian Temple state.  Read First Samuel Eight if you are getting paid to show people how to fall into Babylonianism defined by John in Revelation 17-18.  He called the speakers, singers and instrument players SORCERERS using a word pointing to a Babylonian sorcereress. He said they would be cast ALIVE into the Lake of fire.

Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara — These five are here stated to be the sons of Zerah, that is, of Ezra, whence they were called Ezrahites (1 Kings 4:31). In that passage they are called “the sons of Mahol,” which, however, is to be taken not as a proper name, but appellatively for “sons of music, dancing,” etc. The traditional fame of their great sagacity and acquirements had descended to the time of Solomon and formed a standard of comparison for showing the superior wisdom of that monarch. Jewish writers say that they were looked up to as prophets by their countrymen during the abode in Egypt.

"The religious poetry of the Ugaritic texts has been shown to have close affinities with the Phraseology of the Hebrew Psalms. From the same sources come references to a class of Temple personnel designated by the term serim, who exercised functions similar to those of the Hebrew singers during the monarchy and later times. Some of the servants of David who were designated in 1 Kings 4:31 by (a) term meaning 'aboriginal' or 'native sons,' and who possessed Canaanite names such as Heman, Chalcol, and Darda, were engaged in various forms of musical activity.

As such they were described by the phrase 'sons of Mahol,' a Hebrew term closely related to (the Greek), used of a semi-circular area in which the Greek chorus danced, and meaning 'members of the orchestral guild.'

"A further reflection of this musical interest became apparent when Megiddo was excavated and the treasure room of the royal palace was uncovered. From this area was recovered a plaque inlaid with ivory, depicting a royal personage seated on a throne. He was drinking from a small bowl, and was being entertained by a court musician who stood before him plucking the strings of a lyre." (See Amos 5; 6; 8)

"With the later days of Solomon came a resurgence of Canaanite idolatry, and when the kingdom began to function as two separate units, the breach between the religious life of the north and south was accentuated." (Harrison, R. K., Introduction to the Old Testament, Eerdmans, p. 335-6, see p. 411).

Ovid Amor 2, 13, 18
Who Memphis visit'st, and the Pharian tower,
Assist Corinna with thy friendly powers.
Thee by thy silver Sistra I conjure,
A life so precious by thy aid secure;
So mayst thou with Osiris still find grace:
By Anubis's venerable face,
I pray thee, so may still thy rights divine
Flourish, and serpents round thy offerings twine
May Apis with his horns the pomp attend,
And be to thee, as thou'rt to her, a friend.
Look down, oh Isis! on the teeming fair,
And make at once her life and mine thy care:
Have pity on her pains; the help you give
To her, her lover saves, in her I live.
From thee this favour she deserves; she pays
Her vows to thee on all thy solemn days;
And when the Galli at thy altars wait,
She's present at the feast they celebrate.

SECOND CHRONICLES 2. The Spirit OF Christ warned about the "Lying pen of the Scribes."

A Musical Performer is a Kenite or Cainite: Jesus said that the Jewish clergy were sons of the Devil because they "speak on their own."

CAIN is parallel accounts spoke of fertility rituals especially those where the invention of brass (bell metal, serpent sounds) gave the first THEOLOGIANS seemingly-magical power. They used this power in the world's oldest profession: the prophesiers, soothsayers, sorcerers power to mediate with the gods in exchange for other people's property.  Cain gave rise to Jubal, Jabal, Tubal-Cain and Naamah all agents of witchcraft. In the contemporaneous accounts the Jews would understand that after musical idolatry at Mount Sinai Moses was inverting the GENUN composite character to warn those probably already doomed to merge with the Canaanites (Kenites, Cainites)

Jacob had warned people NOT to associate with, covenant with or attend the assemblies of LEVI.  The Levites were commanded to stand in ranks and make instrumental noise: any godly person who came near or into any holy thing or place was to be executed. Remember the Nadab and Abihu story?
d
The Kenites were adopted as Levites and Ezekiel through the Spirit OF Christ will say that the LEVITES destroyed the nation. Joshepus warns that the Levites during his time wanted to RESUME their roles as the CAIN of that day: he warned that they would destroy the nation again. Josephus even discusses the Sicarri as in Judas Sicarri who were back stabbers.  The Judas Bag was not a purse but "for carrying the mouthpieces of wind instruments."  Psalm prophesied that Judas would try to TRIUMPH OVER Jesus which word means to "blow instruments and 'make a joyful noise before the Lord'."  This was the Warrior's Panic song as indeed all of the Instrumental Psalms are parade or BOAST songs.

The Levites were males performing the roles of women: they wore feminine dress and their performance style (falsetto, cappella) and the names of the songs mark out MALES doing FEMALE religious rituals. The HALAL was a common form of "making self vile."

1Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,

This is not speaking as in the command to SPEAK one to another to teach and comfort. Sounding brass and tinkling cymbals here are identifying marks of people who have NO LOVE. Even if they COULD speak all of the languages in the world there would be no love. The command is to SPEAK or LOGOS the Word of Christ which is the opposite of rhetoric, singing or playing instruments. Speaking in the tongues of angels was IN FACT making music in tongues.

Hezekiah needed to collect the people back inside of the city gates to protect his hide from the Assyrians. He proposed a contract with God which was an exorcism removing all of the Assyrian pollution and instruments from the city. This also involved destroying all of the pagan shrines.

God did not command the Levites to be musical worship ministers: He commanded that they stand in ranks and execute anyone godly person who came inside the gates.  The Spirit OF Christ said that God had not commanded sacrifices or burnt offerings when He saved them by grace from Egypt.

Especially the sacrifices of the Goats was to Dionysus and not to Jehovah.  Hezekiah substituted the goats for the INFANTS burned to Moloch before and after 2 Chronicles 29.

As soon as Hezekiah died, in 2 Chronicles 33 Manasseh began to reign

2Chronicles 33:1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
2Chronicles 33:2 But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
2Chronicles 33:3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
2Chronicles 33:4 Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
2Chronicles 33:5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
2Chronicles 33:6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

2Chronicles 33:20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
2Chronicles 33:21 Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.
2Chronicles 33:22 But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
2Chronicles 33:23 And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
2Chronicles 33:24 And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
2Chronicles 33:25 But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon;
and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

Theologians don't grasp that it was because of musical idolatry that God turned the nation over to worship the starry host. That was because of musical idolatry of the Egyptian trinity at Mount Sinai. Later, the elders "fired God and demanded a human king-god." God granted them their wish but warned that the kings would lie, rob, cheat and steal from the people and give the wealth of the nation to the STAFF.  The Monarchy did NOT follow the Law of Moses or The Book of the Covenant and were quite ignorant of it.  The Laws of DAVID and the laws of the monarchy were NOT the Book of the Covenant which had been placed in the Ark of the Covenant.  At the temple dedication the HEAVINESS cut off access to the Books when the Levites made instrumental noise

2 Chron 34:1 JOSIAH was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years.

2 Chron 34:2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord,
and walked in the ways of David his father,
and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.

2 Chron 34:3 For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young,
he began to seek after the God of David his father:
and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places,
and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.

Philistines from the high places

2 Chron 34:4 And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.

2 Chron 34:5 And he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.

2 Chron 34:6 And so did he in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali, with their mattocks round about.

2 Chron 34:7 And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.

2 Chron 34:8 Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord his God.

God had granted David a TENT on Zion BUT Solomon built God a HOUSE but God does not dwell in houses built by human hands.  Nevertheless, the LIBRARY form God was shut up in the HOUSE.

2 Chron 34:9 And when they came to Hilkiah the high priest,
they delivered the money that was brought into the house of God,
which the Levites that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim,
and of all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin; and they returned to Jerusalem.

2 Chron 34:10 And they put it in the hand of the workmen that had the oversight of the house of the Lord,
and they gave it to the workmen that wrought in the house of the Lord, to repair and amend the house:

2 Chron 34:11 Even to the artificers and builders gave they it,
to buy hewn stone, and timber for couplings,
and to floor the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed.

2 Chron 34:12 And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah,
the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites,
to set it forward; and other of the Levites, all that could skill of instruments of musick.

2 Chron 3412] qui fideliter cuncta faciebant erant autem praepositi operantium Iaath et Abdias de filiis Merari Zaccharias et Mosollam de filiis Caath qui urguebant opus omnes Levitae scientes organis canere

2 Chron 34:13 Also they were over the bearers of burdens,
and were overseers of all that wrought the work in any manner of service:
and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters.

2 Chron 34:14 And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the Lord,
Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the Lord given by Moses.

Whoa! Surprise once-Christian colleges maybe some one will find the Word of God.

2 Chron 34:15 And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe,
I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord.
And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan.

2 Chron 34:16 And Shaphan carried the book to the king,
and brought the king word back again, saying,
All that was committed to thy servants, they do it.

2 Chron 34:17 And they have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the Lord,
and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and to the hand of the workmen.

2 Chron 34:18 Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying,
Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book.
And Shaphan read it before the king.

2 Chron 34:19 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law,
        that he rent his clothes.

2 Chron 34:20 And the king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan,
and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe,
and Asaiah a servant of the kings, saying,

2 Chron 34:21 Go, enquire of the Lord for me,
and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah,
concerning the words of the book that is found:
for great is the wrath of the Lord that is poured out upon us,
because our fathers have not kept the word of the Lord,
to do after all that is written in this book.

2 Chron 34:22 And Hilkiah, and they that the king had appointed,
went to Huldah the prophetess, [
neviyah]

the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvath, the son of Hasrah,
keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;)
and they spake to her to that effect.

2Kings 22:14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.
H4932 mishneh mish-neh' From H8138 ; properly a repetition, that is, a duplicate (copy of a document), or a double (in amount); by implication a second (in order, rank, age, quality or location):—college, copy, double, fatlings, next, second (order), twice as much.

She was near, for she dwelt at Jerusalem, in a place called Mishneh, the second rank of buildings from the royal palace.”Commentary on the Whole Bible Volume II (Joshua to Esther)

II Kings 22: 14 has Huldah “living in Jerusalem in the Mishneh,” which the Aramaic Targum renders as “study hall,” i.e., academy, a place of Torah.”Huldah, the Prophet: Midrash and Aggadah.
"Mishneh Torah" ("The Second Law") is the name used in the Bible itself to designate the book of Deuteronomy, which is a kind summary or review of the rest of the Torah. Maimonides' Mishneh Torah was intended to be a summary of the entire body of Jewish religious law.

The Mishneh Torah is sometimes referred to as the Yad Ha-Hazaqah, "the mighty arm." This is a play on the numerological value of the Hebrew word for arm, "yad," which is 14, equal to the number of volumes in this code.

Because she was a student of the Word and the clergy was not, she did not need supernatural help to speak the Word of God

Deuteronomy 28:15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God,
        to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day;
that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Deuteronomy 28:45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee,
        and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed;
because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God,
to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
Deuteronomy 29:20 The LORD will not spare him,
but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man,
and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him,
and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
Deuteronomy 29:21 And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel,
according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:
Deuteronomy 29:27 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land,
to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:
Deuteronomy 30:7 And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies,
and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

2 Chron 34:23 And she answered them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel,
Tell ye the man that sent you to me,

2 Chron 34:24 Thus saith the Lord, Behold,
I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof,
even all the curses that are written in the book
which they have read before the king of Judah:

Even today if you want to know something written in the Bible you should go to an older lady. Hudah REPEATED the prophecies (promises) from

2 Chron 34:25 Because they have forsaken me,
and have burned incense unto other gods,
        that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands;
therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place,
        and shall not be quenched.

Huldah predicted what would happen but she is not a writing prophet.

2 Chron 34:26 And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the Lord, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard;

2 Chron 34:27 Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the Lord.

Huldah would have known those who heard the curses and decided to obey would be spared. However, that did not apply to the nation which did not repent. the Lord still says to anyone who presumes to be a teacher that unless they can say "thus saith the Lord" then they are false teachers.

Deuteronomy 29:19 And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse,
that he bless himself in his heart, saying,
        I shall have peace,
though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
Deuteronomy 29:20 The LORD will not spare him,
but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man,
and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him,
and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.

2 Chron 34:28 Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.

Huldah still prophesies to us when we understand that Deuteronomy is the SECOND LAW which was in addition to The Book of the Covenant.  The second law was added because of musical idolatry at mount sinai.

James 5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord,
for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

1Peter 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently,
who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
1Peter 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify,
when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

2Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy;
whereunto ye do well that ye take heed,
as unto a light that shineth in a dark place,
until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
2Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people,
even as there shall be false teachers among you,
who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them,
and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2Peter 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words
which were spoken before by the holy prophets,
and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
Once the prophecies have been made more certain or certified no one can be a true prophet other than reading what the Prophets spoke by the Spirit OF Christ.

2 Pet 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

If Huldah had been a PROPHETESS in the sense of modern theology we might expect that she--being text-literate--would stand up and READ the Word.

Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time
        hath in every city
        them that preach him,
being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
[Rest day: not Saturday]

2 Chron 34:29 Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.

2 Chron 34:30 And the king went up into the house of the Lord, and all the men of Judah,
and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small:
and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the Lord.

2 Chron 34:31 And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book.

2 Chron 34:32 And he caused all that were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.

2 Chron 34:33 And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to b, even to serve the Lord their God. And all his days they departed not from following the Lord, the God of their fathers.
