David Lipscomb Summer Celebration and Church Council 2009
This first review the David Lipscomb 2009 Summer Celebration is entitled as "Rivers of Living Waters." This is a takeover of Richard Foster's "Streams of Living Waters." It is a continual collection of people who have many credentials but Jesus warned us not to listen to them. "doctors of the Law" Theology by definition cares little about what scripture says. John York and Rubel Shelly believe that they are Born From Above instead of born again. If one is born from above then one might replace Jesus Christ as the ONLY SOURCE of Rivers of Living Waters. However, the evidence is clear that the word anothen might indicate one born from a goddess but not from Jehovah. This review covers lots of other information about Johjn 3 where the REST OF THE STORY repudiates any person's right to use their imagination to get new authority.
Being overloaded with those promoting instruments in worship or already having imposed them seems to prove that Lipscomb University has fallen for the folly which caused Israel to fall from Grace because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai and used by Christ in the prophets and New Testament as the MARK of those who have rejected the Word and have been sent strong delusions. The lying wonders specificially defines turning ekklesia, synagogue as School of the Word into a pagan entertainment center.
Musical "worship" was always identified as idolatry: those who profaned the Sabbath--before the Law--were abandoned by God to captivity and death: there was no appeal from this sentence.
In Revelation 18 John calls the craftsmen, singers and instrument players sorcerers. They were agents of the Babylon Mother of harlots (Revelation 18) and were always identified as "lusted after fruits." John says that these they HAD deceived the whole world.
The evil is defined by all instrumental and musical words in the Greek and Latin. The literal "magic" is that sorcerers can shut down your rational or spiritual mind so that they can stuff you full of false teachings: there is no other motive. Smooth, effeminate rhetoric also has the same power and that is why it is the first meaning of "hypocrite" and canto or singing calculated songs carries the same meaning. It is not ignorance or an accident: they assume that you are fools because they have prepared you for at least a decade. God will repay.

When you have fallen into musical idolatry, according to the Book of Enoch which defines the preflood fall caused by the evil Lamech family, you have fallen and you will never get back up. Therefore, it is important to know that Jesus FIRED the doctors of the law because they take away the key to knowledge. The use of instruments is the most legalistic and works-intensive thing you could do and lie that you are really worshipping (giving heed) to God in Christ. Then if you want to follow a multiidude (at least the loudest) to do evil then God truly has a plan for you.
While the rhetoricians use the Exodus as a PATTERNISM for composing their own songs and sermons they will never tell the lambs whose walls have been broken down about the musical fall from Grace because of musical idolatry at Mount Sinai.

Because "doctors of the Law" take away the key to knowledge" says Jesus (that's their job: that's what they do) can never look at context or define words other than to promote another false teacher, John fails to realze that John chapter 3 goes to great pains to prove that NO HUMAN is born from above. Furthermore, the BULL'S EYE THING at the center is always to prove that music in the school of the Bible is the MARK of Apollo, Abaddon or Apollyon and his musical worship team.
Richard Foster uses the picture of a friend who saw how all streams flowing from the throne of God and he BEGAN TO SEE how all of the rivers could flow together. Zechariah 14 prophesies of the time of Christ which the dogmas of the millenniel have fail but to result in a literal kingdom with Christ on His throne in Jerusalem. This is promoted as one of the views of some in this university. See our notes on Revelation 22 which does not permit many streams as in "traditions." In Zechariah the punch line is there will be no more the Canaanite in the house of the Lord. First Corinthians 1 applies that to the Church of Christ and later shows that it has no "corrupters of the Word" who sell learning at retail.
Richard Foster emanates his hoped-for vision of an “all inclusive community that he feels God is forming today. He sees this as “a great, new gathering of the people of God.”
I see a Catholic monk from the hills of Kentucky standing alongside a Baptist evangelist from the streets of Los Angeles and together offering up a sacrifice of praise.
As a mystic, you too can experience deification or the True Incarnation of Divine Wisdom. This demands a "complete group-consciousness of humanity.
Rubel Shelly calls it Group-Mentality. Then, all of the false values into which ourchildren are now born, would be annihilated. In the words of Shelly, in the community (read commune) "the individual no longer has the right to read, interpret and speak the word outside of the community reading. Wow! and guess who gets to define the GROUP-CONSCIOUSNESS?
And the shepherds are dogs without a bark says Christ in Isaiah. The church is the tiny few called out of the world the false teachers want to imitate. When Jesus came the 120 was the tiny remnant of millions of Jews were "predestinated" because they had not bowed to Baal.
Christ in the prophets warns that the national (multitude) Civil-Military-Priestly class never ceased their musical idolatry in Egypt. Miriam had led the multitude of women out (to escape) with singing, dancing and instrumental music
- Christ is the ROCK, the only supply of Living Waters: "My WORDS are SPIRIT and LIFE" (John 6:63)
- Rivers of Living Waters were prophesied to flow only from the belly (mind, Spirit) of Christ. No: John 3 does not make them BORN FROM ABOVE (Incarnated); nor does Living Waters flow out of THEIR belly.
- Rivers of Living Waters is the ONE stream of the Word of Christ delivered with supernatual validation to the Prophets and apostles.
- They left a written "memory" so that we could have the UNPolluted flow of the Words of Christ.
- They left as the MARK of a false teacher those who private-interpret or further expound.
- The various phases including the Charismatic and Incarnational stream are NOT branches.
- In Spite of theologians--doctors of the Law Jesus said take away the key to knowledge--they will NOT be merged into a one-world religion which is motivated only by the "corrupting the word" impulse which means 'selling the free water of the Word at retail." The word also means adultery as more likely the Babylon mother of harlots (Rev 17) who use lusted after fruits as speakers, singers and instrument players: John called them sorcerers who HAD deceived the whole world (Rev 18).
Miriam, the "prophetess" while in Egypt is fittingly the source of BITTER WATERS. Exodus 15:20
Before the musical fall from grace and BEFORE the Book of The Law was imposed to a people turned over to worship the starry host.

Exod 23:2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil;

Ephraim Syrus On Our Lord notes that Sinai was a test. The Israelites were consummate idolaters in Egypt. However, God gave them one more shot at the Abrahamic Covenant. By removing Moses as a visible "authority figure" He wanted to let them answer their own prayer:18. Payne insists that the Hebrew of 1 Chronicles 25:1 unambiguously identifies these leaders as military commanders, an interpretation favoured by several Bible translations. (Payne, p 423-4; NASB, NIV, NKJV, NRSV, Jerusalem Bible) If military commanders had a particular interest in the appointment of musicians, it suggests a strong link between music and warfare

Halal or 'praise' means to make youself mad or insane!

"But this is just as applicable to any particular meeting as to an universal council. And yet the important part of the question does not lie here, but in the condition which is added, viz., that Christ will be in the midst of a council, provided it be assembled in his name.
"Wherefore, though our opponents should name councils of thousands of bishops it will little avail them; nor will they induce us to believe that they are, as they maintain, guided by the Holy Spirit, until they make it credible that they assemble in the name of Christ: since it is as possible for wicked and dishonest to conspire against Christ, as for good and honest bishops to meet together in his name.
"Of this we have a clear proof in very many of the decrees which have proceeded from councils. But this will be afterwards seen.
At present I only reply in one word, that our Saviour's promise is made to those only who assemble in his name.
"How, then, is such an assembly to be defined? I deny that those assemble in the name of Christ who, disregarding his command by which he forbids anything to be added to the word of God or taken from it, determine everything at their own pleasure, who, not contented with the oracles of Scripture, that is, with the only rule of perfect wisdom, devise some novelty out of their own head, (Deut. 4: 2; Rev. 22: 18.) "From the prophet even unto the priest, every one dealeth falsely." Again, "The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them," (Jer. 6: 13; 14: 14.)
And not to be prolix with quotations, read the whole of his thirty-third and fortieth chapters. Then, on the other hand, Ezekiel inveighs against them in no milder terms.
"There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls."
"Her priests have violated my law, and profaned mine holy things," (Ezek. 22: 25, 26.) There is more to the same purpose. Similar complaints abound throughout the prophets; nothing is of more frequent recurrence.
Profaned: h2490 same as Halal to profane, to play the flute, to steal one's inheritance, to pollute or prostitute. Use in as "Lucifer was cast as profane out of heaven."

Leo Boles invented a neo-trinity or polytheism of three separated persons in the Godhead. This is claimed by John Mark Hicks as one of the dogmas making the Lipscomb pattern superior to the Texas Pattern. This demanded twisting Alexander Campbell's views to contradict him. Rubel Shelly and John York claim that the olden Bible did not include lots of words now available with a new set of spectacles. However, not in the Bible or any of the classical inventers of the word TRIAS failed to recognize that the Spirit OF Christ was Christ Himself and not a little person inside. We will look at more John because this is the foundation of people believing that being born again means that THEY were BORN FROM ABOVE. This means a Second Incarnation.

The realization of this may be what is reflected in the current mass abandonment of the exclusiveness of Christianity that is going on among Western Christians now, especially in its academic centers. Why should one insist on the exclusiveness of Christianity if all it is is one more cultural form? But let the reality of Christian spiritual formation come to its fullness, and exclusiveness will take care of itself. If the homosexual, the witch and the warlock, the Buddhist and the Muslim, can truly walk in a holiness and power equal to that of Jesus Christ and devoted followers, there is nothing more to say. But Christ himself, and not Christianity as a form of human culture, is the standard by which 'we' as well as 'they' are to be measured (Acts 17:31). Dallas Willard

Richard Foster emanates his hoped-for vision of an “all inclusive community that he feels God is forming today. He sees this as “a great, new gathering of the people of God.”
Fox also taught about this “great underground river” present within all men, although he called it the “Inner Light.”I see a Catholic monk from the hills of Kentucky standing alongside a Baptist evangelist from the streets of Los Angeles and together offering up a sacrifice of praise. I see a people.
The only place in “the hills of Kentucky” where Catholic monks live is the Gethsemane Abbey, a Trappist monastery. This also, coincidentally, was the home base of Thomas Merton (130). Ken Silva
Randy Harris seeks "beyond the sacred pages" and it is no wonder what comes out if God is right and the "imagination of mankind is only evil continually." There is a CENI outlawing that as sorcery. He claims that it is aimed at STUDENTS. Harris said. ‘I’ve really been on a search and kinda decided I would go any place in the world to try and learn from people who know about meditation or contemplative prayer or who were practicing a mystical tradition.’”
What the Literate Bible Student sees and hears and smells: Mr. Henry Dunster had received a patron for establishing a college. And he notes:

If they claim that the old fountain of living waters have dried up it is BECAUSE, in the words of Rubel Shelly and John York they got new glasses through which to get a new VISION for the church of Christ. You silly laidity no longer have the right to "read, interpret and speak the Word outside of the community" (read commune). Well, it is too terminal to laugh at these doctors of the law PURPOSE DRIVEN to take away the key to knowledge.

Remember that the Prophets wrote by the Spirit of Christ (1 Pet 1:11; 2 Cor 3; Rev 19::10). The warning is against the doctors of the law; Jesus calls them the sons of the Devil because they speak on their own.

Jesus refused to attend until the opening musical festival of singing, dancing, playing musical instruments, reading poems and sermons and selling books was over. The Jews believed that the festivals provided life when they held their water drawing festivals Jesus knew that the doctors of the Law; Scribes and Pharisees; hypocrites; speakers, singers and instrument players would be seeking their messiah to murder Him.
These festivals of light, water and music were not part of the Law of Moses but were added during the Kingdom period when Israel abandoned God and demanded a king so that they could worship like the nations:
"After the Exile, the feast was protracted to the twenty-fifth of the month, and two new rites were added to the old ceremonial. Every morning of the celebration a priest went down to the Siloe Fountain, whence he brought in a golden ewer water which was pored on the alter of holocausts amidst the singing of the Hallel (Pss, cxii-cxvii) and the joyful sound of musical instruments."
This like all of the parables was to fool the foolish Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, rhetoricians, singers and instrument players says Jesus Christ in Isaiah and Ezekiel.
WHAT IS THE WATER WHICH FLOWS ONLY OUT OF THE "SIDE" OF JESUS?

If Christ is the SOURCE of living waters and it flows out of our own minds, then this in fact SILENCES the loud musical processions out of Babylon.
The "moving waters" had value only when applied by Jesus Christ. This superstitious ceremony led Jesus to show that it was not the external, musical joy which He promised but "living waters" or "spirit" which would flow out of the mind or heart of the believer. Jesus gave no credence to the power of the musical celebration.
When Christ poured out His Spirit on Pentecost and elsewhere, the result was that people praised Him or preached about Him in whatever language was needed. The "spirit" which was poured out was the Words of Christ (the Spirit 1 Peter 1:11) as He guided the apostles into all truth.
When miracles were worked as signs of the Word, it was Lord Jesus Christ who performed the signs:
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them,
and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. Mark 16:20That's why Peter MARKED those who rejected this confirmed Word of God.
